The Harmony of Chorus: On the Function and theRole of Chorus in Constructing a Harmonious Society

What is the function or role that chorus has been play-ing in constructing a harmonious society since the openingup and reforms in China? in my opinion， there is no needto exaggerate its function on the one hand， and it is surelynecessary to recognize the various social functions that ithas played through the years. Many years of working withthe Chorus China， and in particular， my participation in var-ious kinds of chorus activities， have helped me understandthat the chorus， as a form of art， has been playing such arole in building up a harmonious society that no other artforms can substitute.
