Afarmer who wished to show his sons the way to success in farming called them to bed and said: \"My children， I'm now soon leaving this world， but all that I have to leave you， you will find in the vineyard.\"

The sons supposed that he referred to some hidden treasure. As soon as the old man passed away， they set to work with spades and ploughs and turned up the soil over and over. They found no treasure， but because of their diligence， the vine yielded more than they had ever.

Spring diligence is autumn treasure.

有位老農想把種田的成功之道教給他的兒子們，于是就把他們叫到床邊，說道：“孩子們，我不久就要離開這個世界了。但你們會在葡萄園里找到我留給你們的所有財富。”

幾個兒子以為父親說的是他藏著什么金銀財寶。于是父親一過世，他們就拿起鐵鍬和耕犁，把葡萄園里的土翻了一遍又一遍。當然，他們沒有找到任何金銀財寶。不過，由于他們的“辛勤勞作”，這年秋天，葡萄的產量比往年多了許多。
