seem
1. seem
He seems terribly ill.
注:表語形容詞(如afraid, asleep, awake等)不能直接跟在seem之后,必須跟在 seem to be 之后。
They seem to be asleep.
誤:They seem asleep.
But he seemed rather tired last night.
That seems quite a good idea.
I seem to remember that the last time we met I did most of the talking.
They seem to be abroad.
They seemed like twins.
They seem further away now.
(7) that引導(dǎo)的從句(用于帶先行詞it的結(jié)構(gòu)中):
It seems that it’s more difficult for women to get to the top of a company.
It seems that she told a lie in order to get a job with our company.
It seems that he is rich.
He seems to be rich.
(8)as if或 as though引導(dǎo)的從句:
Does it seem as if the lady knows little about wine?
He makes it seem as if this is one of the most delicious meals that he has ever enjoyed.
[拓展延伸]seem to 的否定式有兩種:don’t seem to與seem not to。
She seems not to like it.
She doesn’t seem to like it.
It doesn’t seem that we can get our money back.
It seems that we can’t get our money back.
