Scene One

A beautiful house proudly（1） stands at the street. Every person says，“Ah， what a beautiful house it is!” One day， the house is chatting with（2） a red car. A pigeon flies and stops on the roof.

Car: How are you， pretty pigeon?

Pigeon:(proudly) I have built a nice nest.

House: What is a nest?

Pigeon: Nest is my home. And I live in it.

House: Where do I live? Where is my home?

Pigeon:(sympathetically（3）) You can’t have your home， because the house can’t live in the house.

House: (opening her eyes) Why?

Pigeon: (flapping his wings（4）) Because you are a house. You are only other people’s house. I feel sorry for you. Oh， I have to come back to my nest. Goodbye!

Car: And I’ll go back to my garage. See you!

Scene Two

House:(stopping and shouting hopefully) Hello， High Building. Could you become my house?

High Building: My door is small and low. You can’t come in.

House sees a very big cave in a mountain. So she is very happy and comes into it pleasantly.

House: Ah， I have found my house.

Tiger:(shouting angrily)Go out!This is my home.

House is very tired， and she still doesn’t find her home. She is very sad.

Scene Three

House:(crying) If I were a man， I would have my house; if I were a bird， I would have a nest; if I were a bee， I would have a small hive（6）. But I am a poor house. I won’t have my home forever.

Old Tree: Why are you crying?

House: I don’t have my home， and I have no house to live in.

Old Tree: (laughing) Oh， look! The sky is your roof， and the earth is your room. In your home， you have everything， the sun， the moon， the stars， the cities and the mountains. Aren’t you happy to have such a big house?

House:(thoughtfully) It’s right. I have the biggest house in the world. My house is more beautiful than others’.

After she comes back， she is a happy house.
