Stepping into Caravaggio’s World

The Caravaggio’s World of Art exhibition opened to the public at the NationalMuseum of China in Beijing on November 8， 2024. Caravaggio， born in thesecond half of the 16th century， was an outstanding Italian painter known forhis dramatic use of chiaroscuro to portray vivid stories and emotional depth. Hisdistinctive painting style greatly influenced the Baroque movement in Westernart history. A collaboration between the National Museum of China and theEmbassy of Italy in China， the exhibition is a journey through art restoration thatreveals the captivating stories behind the paintings. An immersive VR experiencethat brings Caravaggio’s iconic works to life is also available. It will remain openuntil the end of March 2025.

Beautiful Brazil， Beautiful China

A photo album and photo exhibition titled “Beautiful Brazil， Beautiful China” was launched inRio de Janeiro， Brazil， on November 11， 2024. More than 150 people from the two countries attendedthe event， including representatives from politics， media， think tanks， culture， and business.

Themed “China and Brazil moving forward hand in hand， though miles apart，” the photo albumfeatures over 100 exquisite photographic works showcasing the natural beauty， history， and culture ofChina and Brazil， as well as their economic ties，cultural exchange， and collaborative achievements.

At the opening ceremony， Gao Anming， vice president and editor-in-chief of China InternationalCommunications Group， commented that China， an ancient Eastern civilization， and Brazil， anemerging major country in South America， are working together to achieve common development.Over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations， China and Brazil haveachieved remarkable results in cooperation in fields like economics， trade， science and technology，education， and culture， injecting new vitality into the economic and social development of the twocountries and bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples. Every photo displayed in the “BeautifulBrazil， Beautiful China” album and exhibition shines light on the deep friendship and commonmemories of the two peoples.
