Jiuzhaigou National Park is located in the north part of the Sichuan Provincein southwestern China. The park covers an area of 280 square miles （720 sq km）. Itis a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a World Biosphere Reserve.

The elevation1 varies from 6，600 to 14，800 feet （2，000 to 4，500 m）. TheJiuzhaigou valley falls within the Min Mountains and serves as the heart of thenational park. The national park is famous for its beautifully colored lakes， the lotsof layered2 waterfalls， and peaks3 that are often snow-capped.

There are several beautiful colored lakes highlighted with spectacular blues andgreens. Five Flower Lake features a crisscrossed6 design of fallen trees. The lakesbecome even more pleasing in the fall when the leaves turn orange， red， and yellow，creating beautiful reflections in the water.

Jiuzhaigou is a stunning8 collection of mountains， lakes， and waterfalls， andhiking among them is one of the best ways to discover and explore what the nationalpark is all about. There are a variety of trails that you may leverage9 for youroutdoor hiking into the area.

Although challenging， the hike is worth the effort because of the beautifullandscapes that will be experienced.
