On September 26, Yuan Jiajun, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, and Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, met with Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Prime Minister of Nepal, visiting Chongqing.

To Lam noted that Vietnam attaches great importance to its comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership with China.Chongqing boasts a prime location and a solid industrial foundation.Vietnam will further its cooperation with Chongqing in economy and trade, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, as well as transport and logistics, and move forward with bilateral relations.

On September 17, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed between the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, and Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, met with Alexander Sokolov, Rector of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the delegation, and also witnessed the signing of MoU.

Sokolov thanked Chongqing for the attention and support for the cooperation.He noted that China and Russia have a long legacy of friendly exchanges.The Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory eagerly seeks to collaborate with Chongqing to facilitate the implementation of the program, exchange expertise and experience in classical music education, foster cultural and art exchanges between the two countries, and make significant contributions to broader China-Russia cooperation in various domains.

On September 21, the 2023 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges was hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in Shenzhen.Themed“Towards Sustainable Development for All”, the Forum was attended and addressed by Xiao Jie, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

重慶市人大常委會副主任、重慶市人民對外友好協(xié)會會長趙世慶應(yīng)邀出席論壇，并就“加強民主法治建設(shè)，助推可持續(xù)發(fā)展”發(fā)言。他介紹，近年來，重慶深入貫徹習(xí)近平新時代中國特色社會主義思想，不斷加強民主法治和平安建設(shè)，社會大局保持和諧穩(wěn)定。堅持黨的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)、人民當家作主、依法治國有機統(tǒng)一，著力推進全過程人民民主，堅持立法有依據(jù)、司法有保障、執(zhí)法必嚴格，加強和創(chuàng)新社會治理，民主法治建設(shè)取得新進展。當前，重慶正深入學(xué)習(xí)貫徹中共二十大和市委六屆二次全會精神，著力推動成渝地區(qū)雙城經(jīng)濟圈建設(shè)，加快推動西部陸海新通道建設(shè)，推進數(shù)字重慶建設(shè)，推進“三中心一樞紐”建設(shè)，在新時代新征程全面建設(shè)社會主義現(xiàn)代化新重慶。

論壇期間，趙世慶還與上海市、江蘇省、山西省友協(xié)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)及與會的外方嘉賓進行了廣泛交流。

The Business Delegation from St.Petersburg, Russia, Visiting the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government

On September 19, Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government, held a meeting with the business delegation of St.Petersburg, Russia,to exchange views on consolidating and deepening the friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and St.Petersburg, Russia.

Wang Wen introduced to the delegation the economic and social development of Chongqing, the development strategy and plan of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-Hub Mega-Region, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Chongqing’s vision of becoming “three centers and one hub”, the Digital Chongqing and the Beautiful Chongqing initiatives.She reviewed the profound history of friendly exchanges between Chongqing and St.Petersburg, hoping to make full use of the convenient conditions such as the Chongqing-Manzhouli-Russia freight railway and the direct passenger flight between Chongqing and Moscow.Chongqing will integrate the forces of the government, business community, and other parties to jointly promote pragmatic cooperation between Chongqing and St.Petersburg in industry, commerce, culture,and other fields.

Chen Zhigang, Chairman of the Federation of Overseas Chinese in St.Petersburg, said that he is willing to give full play to his advantages and contribute to promoting the exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and St.Petersburg in fields like commerce, culture, tourism,and media.

俄羅斯圣彼得堡工商代表團拜會重慶市政府外辦

9月19日，市政府外辦主任王雯與俄羅斯圣彼得堡工商代表團舉行工作會談，就鞏固深化重慶與俄羅斯圣彼得堡市友好交流合作交換意見。

王雯向代表團介紹了重慶經(jīng)濟社會發(fā)展情況，成渝地區(qū)雙城經(jīng)濟圈、西部陸海新通道、“三中心一樞紐”、數(shù)字重慶、美麗重慶建設(shè)等發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略和思路規(guī)劃，回顧了重慶與圣彼得堡深厚的友好交往歷史，希望充分利用渝滿俄班列、重慶與莫斯科客運直航等便利條件，整合政府、工商界等各方力量，共同推動重慶與圣彼得堡產(chǎn)業(yè)、商貿(mào)、人文等多領(lǐng)域務(wù)實合作。

Delegation of San José Department of Uruguay Visiting Chongqing

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of sistership relations between Chongqing and San José Department in Uruguay, Mercedes Antía, Chairperson of the Development Committee of the Provincial Council of San José Department, Uruguay, led a provincial council and government delegation to Chongqing from September 17 to 21.The delegation participated in the 2023 China International Meat Industry Exhibition (CIMIE) and held discussions on promoting cooperation in various fields between the two parties with relevant organizations in Chongqing.

On September 19, the delegation paid a visit to the Committee of the Ethnic, Religion, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs Committee of Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress to exchange information on the local legislature’s work.They expressed the desire to strengthen mutual learning and experience sharing with Chongqing.

During discussions with the Chongqing Municipal Administration of Sports, both sides provided updates on progress in areas such as youth football, sports for all, and equestrian.They engaged in extensive discussions on strengthening collaboration in fields like sports talent development, events,and training.

At a meeting with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chongqing, the delegation promoted San José Province’s key industries and development.They expressed their keen interest in advancing cooperation in trade in goods and investment.

On September 20, Zhang Yaxi, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, met with the delegation.They looked back on the fruitful exchanges and cooperation that took place in areas such as trade, culture, education, and reciprocal visits since the establishment of their friendship.Zhang Yaxi noted that significant cooperation achievements have been realized across various sectors, and the friendly relationship has strengthened.The fifth anniversary of sistership relations represents a new beginning, and she expressed the hope that both parties would further enhance their practical cooperation.

As one of the commemorative events for the fifth anniversary, the delegation visited Chongqing Library.During this visit, they made a special donation on behalf of the San José Library, encompassing books written by local writers and artists.These books serve as an introduction and showcase of the culture, traditional heritage, and artistic expressions of the San José Department.The delegation aspires to tap into the platform of Chongqing Library to increase the understanding of the San José Department among the citizens of Chongqing.

烏拉圭圣何塞省代表團訪渝

為慶祝重慶市與烏拉圭圣何塞省建立友好市省關(guān)系5周年，9月17日至21日，烏拉圭圣何塞省議會發(fā)展委員會主席梅賽德斯·安蒂亞率省議會和政府代表團訪渝，參加2023中國國際肉類工業(yè)展覽會，并與重慶相關(guān)單位探討推進雙方各領(lǐng)域合作事項。

9月19日，代表團一行拜會市人大民宗僑外委，交流地方議會工作機制，表示希望與重慶加強互學(xué)互鑒，分享發(fā)展經(jīng)驗；在與市體育局座談中，雙方介紹了各自在青少年足球培訓(xùn)、群眾體育、馬術(shù)等項目的發(fā)展情況，就加強體育人才、賽事、培訓(xùn)等領(lǐng)域交流合作充分交換了意見；在與市貿(mào)促會的工作會議中，代表團介紹圣何塞省主要產(chǎn)業(yè)和發(fā)展優(yōu)勢，表達希望進一步加強產(chǎn)品貿(mào)易、投資等領(lǐng)域合作的愿望。

9月20日，市政府外辦副主任張婭茜會見了代表團一行，雙方回顧了結(jié)好以來在經(jīng)貿(mào)、人文、教育、人員互訪等領(lǐng)域友好交往的情況。張婭茜說，雙方在各領(lǐng)域交往取得了豐碩的合作成果，友好關(guān)系不斷深化，結(jié)好5周年是友好交往的新起點，希望共同推動雙方務(wù)實合作更上一層樓。

In May this year, Chongqing and Hong Kong formally established the cooperation conference mechanism, identifying practical cooperation on 47 items in 11 fields, which was the first cooperation mechanism established between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and a province/municipality in the mainland after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, marking a new historical starting point for Chongqing-Hong Kong cooperation.Last year, Chongqing and Macao established a “l(fā)ist-based” cooperation mechanism to deepen exchanges and cooperation in six areas.

The hard work has been paid offwith pleasing results.The cooperation between Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao has unlimited potential and a promising future.At present, Chongqing is fully implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.The good development trend and broad market space will bring more development opportunities for enterprises of Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao.Hong Kong and Macao have unique advantages and huge room for future development.Wang Wen hopes the three places will promote exchanges, deepen cooperation, actively integrate into the big picture of China’s development, and work together for sustained prosperity and growth.
