Abstract：

The construction of the Chinese national community is a major political and social project to attain societal consensus， forge ahead in unity， and strive for common prosperity. It is a practical requirement for achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and an effective strategy for coping with the great changes in the world over the past century. This strategy is deeply embedded in the overall process of national， political， economic， ecological， social， and cultural construction， and is unified in the historical process of building a modern China. At present， there are still weak links in the construction of the “five-sphere integrated plan” in ethnic areas， which to some extent appears to weaken the leadership of the Party， affect the construction of harmonious ethnic relations， and hinder ethnic exchange， interaction， and integration， as well as the cohesion of people.

To promote the construction of the Chinese national community in ethnic regions， this study concludes it is necessary to focus on building a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation and integrate the work of strengthening the consciousness of the Chinese national community into the “five-sphere integrated plan”. This means that at the level of 1） political construction， one should adhere to the equality of all ethnic groups， maintain and improve the system of regional ethnic autonomy， ensure that all ethnic groups are masters of the country， ensure the unity of the legal system， and smoothen the implementation of government orders and the comprehensive and correct implementation of the Partys ethnic policies， in order to consolidate the political foundation of the construction of the Chinese national community. At the level of 2） economic and ecological civilization construction， the development of economy should be vigorously supported in ethnic minority areas， the construction of ecological civilization be fostered， the concept， action， and ability of integrated development of industrial ecology and ecological industrialization be improved， the ability of sustainable development in ethnic minority areas enhanced， common prosperity achieved， ethnic minority areas encouraged to move towards socialist modernization， intending to consolidate the material foundation for the construction of the Chinese national community. At the level of 3） social construction， the legal and regulatory system should be improved for ethnic work， the rule of law be adhered to in governing ethnic affairs， an embedded social structure be built， the creation of ethnic unity and progress deepened， communication， interaction， and integration promoted among people of all ethnic groups， the modernization of grassroots governance strengthened in ethnic lands， for the purpose of consolidating the social and legal foundation for the construction of the Chinese National Community. At the level of 4） cultural construction， a common spiritual home should comprehensively be built， the education of Chinese cultural identity strengthened， the education of the standard spoken and written Chinese language and cross-cultural adaptation vigorously promoted， the cultural symbols and values shared by all ethnic groups established and highlighted， the common historical memory of all ethnic groups be awakened， the understanding of the history of the Chinese nation be enhanced， so as to consolidate the spiritual and cultural foundation of the construction of the Chinese national community.
