        CSSC Achieves Year-Round Deliveries ahead of Schedule

        The 110,000 DWT LNG dualfuel powered product tanker “Proteus Tracy” built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) was completed and delivered on December 22, 2022, fulfilling the year-round ship deliveries ahead of schedule. CSSC has so far accumulated deliveries of 209 ships, hitting 14.0614 million DWT.Preliminary statistics show CSSC new orders and handheld orders maintained the world's leading level last year,and the position of the world's first shipbuilding group continued to consolidate.

        Confronted with a series of difficulties such as COVID-19 and extreme weather, the shipyards,institutes and marine equipment suppliers under CSSC worked with one heart and one mind, tackled difficulties head on, actively implemented the instructions of the CSSC Leading Party Group on coordinating epidemic prevention and control and resumption of work and production, aiming at the annual targets, working creatively,striving to minimize the impact of the epidemic in a bid to complete the annual targets. They firmly centered on improving quality, speed and efficiency to ensure the ship delivery, took the initiative to press on, made every effort to complete the annual ship delivery targets with high quality, and handed in a heavy and brilliant report card.

        Busy with high-end ship types

        According to statistics, among the ships completed and delivered by CSSC last year, dual-fueled ships accounted for 31.6%, and mediumand high-end ships accounted for 56.8%. While ensuring the number of completed and delivered ships, it made phased achievements in scientific and technological innovation, transformation and upgrading.

        In the three major ship types,Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding and Jiangnan Shipyard, both subsidiaries of CSSC, successively delivered four 24,000 TEU very large container ships,highlighting the first-mover advantage of CSSC's new stepover in technological breakthrough and new height of created in China.

        In the LNG industrial chain equipment sector, Hudong Zhonghua and Jiangnan Shipyard have delivered a total of two 174,000 m3 large LNG carriers, two 80,000 m3 LNGCs and one 30,000 m3 LNGC. In particular,Jiangnan Shipyard and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC) obtained the first large LNGC construction order and subsequent batch orders, and accumulated technical reserves for the upcoming construction of 175,000 m3 large LNGCs.

        Last year, CSSC launched a number of original and first vessels.While the dual-fueled vessels became the main ship type, it further enriched its shipbuilding spectrum and technical reserves. For example, DSIC delivered the world's first LNG dual fuel powered 300,000-ton VLCC, China’s first energy-saving 300,000-ton VLCC installed with 2 pairs of a newgeneration large rigid airfoil sails,China's first independently designed and built 8500 m3 LNG refueling ship;Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding(SWS) delivered the world's first 209,000 DWT Newcastlemax LNG dual-fuel powered bulk carrier and China's first 210,000 DWT Newcastlemax upgraded intelligent bulk carrier; CSSC Chengxi Shipyard delivered the first 26000 ton electric self-discharging ship with the world advanced level, and the world's first 50000 ton Type-MR tanker with the built-in SCR marine low speed engine;GSI delivered China's first 110,000-ton dual-fueled Aframax product tanker, the world's first 158,000-ton dual-fueled Suezmax crude oil tanker, in particular, it delivered China's first 49,900-ton methanol dual-fuel chemical / product tanker,thus successfully openning a new era of methanol dual-fuel shipbuilding in China.

        In the high-end offshore engineering and special ship domain,CSSC has built a good momentum of flourishing batch shipbuilding.Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding delivered the world's first 10,000-ton intelligent large fishery cultivation factory ship“Guo Xin 1”, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong shipbuilding delivered the world's most advanced fishing and processing vessel “Deep Blue” and China's first wind power installation platform meeting the fourth generation sea wind equipment function standard “Bai He Tan”, Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry delivered the first large cruise and rescue ship on the Taiwan Straits. In addition,SWS delivered the third Fast4Ward?“general-purpose” FPSO; Jiangnan Shipyard delivered 99,000 m3 Type-B very large ethane carrier (VLEC),86,000 m3 very large liquefied gas carrier (VLGC), and 3,600CEU PCTC;GSI delivered 600-passenger / 4,500m lane luxury ro-ro passenger ship, and 3,000 m multi-purpose ro-ro ship.

        Steady progress in major projects

        offshore engineering business,deepened the Kanban management,promoted the improvement of production and operation quality of shipbuilding and offshore engineering business, and gave full play to the role of the CSSC experts panel to ensure the smooth implementation of major projects and key projects.         After more than two years of continuous construction, the highprofile CSSC No.1 Project -- China’s first large cruise ship has entered the critical stage of internal decoration and equipment (system) commissioning,and is making steady progress towards the final naming and delivery milestone.

        On August 8 last year, China’s second large cruise ship kicked off in Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. The large cruise ship entered the era of“double cruise” shipbuilding,indicating that China's shipbuilding industry has initially mastered key and core technologies of the design and construction of large cruise ships, and the realization of mass and serial cruise shipbuilding is just around the corner.

        In terms of the construction of very large container ships, all the orders of 100 large container ships are under Kanban management,focusing on monitoring the production schedule of 6 shipyards and 2 main engine manufaturers, and all the projects are progressing smoothly and controllable.

        In large LNG shipbuilding capacity, China's fifth generation“Changheng Series” 174000 m3 LNG carrier independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua and representing the world today’s highest technical level in the LNGC sector,developed from the design blueprint to actual ship construction, established itself as China’s important milestone in the process from running shoulder to shoulder to a leader in the LNGC R&D and design. With Jiangnan Shipbuilding and DSIC entering the large LNGC shipbuildnig domain,CSSC large LNGC development tripod has taken shape.

        With the growth of dual-fueled ship orders, CSSC is giving a big push to the new technology and new pattern of sea trial and gas sea trial of“two in one” of dual-fueled ships,and through exploration, practice,application and verification, obtained a series of significant achievements in the shipbuilding efficiency improvement,construction cycle shortening and construction cost reduction, becoming CSSC’s major innovation and bright spot for 2022 elevation in quality,growth and efficiency.

        Year 2022 was an extraordinary year.
