This paper studies the academic papers on “red culture” as the main content since the new century for quantitative analysis, focusing on the connotation and extension of the subject, function and education, inheritance and protection, economic and social benefits, value and meaning, etc. Its goal is to analyze the “incremental” trend of the red culture research institute since the new century, especially in the past 10 years and summarize its causes. During the Yan’ an Rectification period, the Communist Party of China profoundly explained the “Party spirit” and launched the “Strengthening Party Spirit” campaign in 1941 in view of the problems of low quality in the Party members, poor discipline, and inconsistent thinking that appeared in the Party at that time. In 1944, after a delegation of Chinese and foreign journalists visiting the northwest went to Yan’an to inspect, a major polemic on “Party spirit” between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China was set off. The focus of the controversy revolved around the relationship between Party spirit, personality and human nature, and finally the Communist Party of China used this controversy to make some positive changes in relevant public opinion at home and abroad towards its own benefit, which changed the disparity between the strength and weakness of the two sides’ discourse power.
