In July this year, India's handicraft exports (exclud—ing handmade carpets) were worth USD 121.23 million,compared with USD 189.04 million in the same period last year, with a year—on—year decrease of 35.87%. Exports of cotton yarn, fabrics, made—ups, hand loom products, etc.were worth $ 944.92 million in the month over $ 1,315.42 million in July 2021—a YoY fall of 28.17 percent.

In July this year, the export value of man—made yarns,fabrics, manufactured goods, etc. was 437.59 million USD,compared with 486.91 million USD in the same period last year, a year—on—year decrease of 10.13%. In July this year,the ready—to—wear export value of all textiles was USD 1,380.91 million, compared with USD 1,389.22 million in the same period of last year, a year—on—year decrease of 0.60 percent.

Imports of cotton (raw and waste) were worth $193.87 million in July this year compared to $ 57.68 mil—lion in the same month last year, registering a YoY increase of 236.11 per cent, whereas imports of textile yarn, fabric and made—up articles were worth $ 268.82 million in the month compared to $ 142.36 million in the same month in 2021—an increase of 88.83 per cent.

India's overall exports—merchandise and services combined—in July this year are estimated to be worth $61.18 billion, exhibiting a growth of 11.51 per cent over the same period last year China's Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a press release that from April to July this year, this figure is expected to be USD 253.84 billion, a year—on—year increase of 22.85%.

Th e total imports volume in July was estimated at USD 82.22 billion, a year—on—year increase of 42.90%. Th e f igure for April—July this year is esti—mated to be USD 317.40 billion, with a year—on—year increase of 47.68%. In July, the merchandise export value was USD 36.27 billion, which was higher than that in July 2021, which was USD 35.51 billion, with a year—on—year increase of 2.14%, while the import value in that month was USD 66.27 billion, with an increase of 43.61% over that in July last year.

Th e merchandise trade def icit in July this year was estimated to be 30 billion dollars, compared with 10.63 billion dollars in July last year, an in—crease of 182.10%. Merchandise exports and imports during April—July this year were worth $ 157.44 billion and 256.43 billion compared to $ 131.06 billion (YoY growth of 20.13 per cent) and $ 173.12 billion (YoY growth of 48.12 per cent) respectively during the same period last year. The mer—chandise trade def icit for April—July 2022 was estimated at $ 98.99 billion compared to $ 42.07 billion in the same period last year—a YoY rise of 135.31 percent.
