The five Vajras, also five Guardians in Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, are: Yamantaka, Guhyasamaja, Hevajra, Chakrasamvara, and Kalachakra. As one of them, Yamantaka is also known as the “Destroyer of the God of Death”. The Tantra said that “his quality of subduing demons shows his great power; and his achievement of protecting goodness shows his great morality.” Tibetan Tantric Buddhism believes that he is the embodiment of Manjusri Bodhisattva. Yamantaka is present on behalf of compassion while his companion Ming is present on behalf of wisdom.
The accompaniment of" Yamataka, and Ming (in Sanskrit Nairatmya), symbolizes wisdom. As the accompanying female to Yamantaka, she practices with him together. She has also three heads and six arms. Her two main arms hold Yamantaka’s neck, and the others hold a lotus, sword, bow and arrow, and other instruments.
