重慶是一塊英雄的土地，有著光榮的革命傳統(tǒng)、豐富的紅色資源。習(xí)近平總書記指出，“解放戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)時(shí)期，眾多被關(guān)押在渣滓洞、白公館的中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人，經(jīng)受住種種酷刑折磨，不折不撓、寧死不屈，為中國(guó)人民解放事業(yè)獻(xiàn)出了寶貴生命，凝結(jié)成‘紅巖精神”，強(qiáng)調(diào)“要運(yùn)用這些紅色資源，教育引導(dǎo)廣大黨員、干部堅(jiān)定理想信仰，養(yǎng)成浩然正氣，增強(qiáng)‘四個(gè)意識(shí)、堅(jiān)定‘四個(gè)自信、做到‘兩個(gè)維護(hù)，始終在政治立場(chǎng)、政治方向、政治原則、政治道路上同黨中央保持高度一致”。

紅巖，是抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)時(shí)期和解放戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)初期中共中央南方局領(lǐng)導(dǎo)機(jī)關(guān)所在地和重慶談判期間中共代表團(tuán)駐地。戰(zhàn)斗在國(guó)民黨統(tǒng)治區(qū)的中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人經(jīng)歷著風(fēng)雨如磐的斗爭(zhēng)歲月，面臨著復(fù)雜險(xiǎn)惡的社會(huì)環(huán)境和風(fēng)云激蕩的政治環(huán)境，毛澤東同志在這里進(jìn)行了決定中國(guó)前途命運(yùn)的重慶談判，周恩來(lái)同志領(lǐng)導(dǎo)中共中央南方局在這里同反動(dòng)勢(shì)力展開(kāi)了堅(jiān)決斗爭(zhēng)，重慶涌現(xiàn)了大批大義凜然、堅(jiān)貞不屈的共產(chǎn)黨人，與敵人斗智斗勇。紅巖精神正是在這樣特殊的環(huán)境中形成與發(fā)展的。全面抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)時(shí)期，在條件極其惡劣、斗爭(zhēng)復(fù)雜尖銳、黨性考驗(yàn)嚴(yán)峻的情況下，以周恩來(lái)同志為代表的中共中央南方局在發(fā)展和壯大抗日民族統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線的斗爭(zhēng)中培育和形成了紅巖精神;解放戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)初期，在抗戰(zhàn)勝利后的重要?dú)v史轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)頭，為了國(guó)家前途和民族命運(yùn)，毛澤東同志率領(lǐng)的中共代表團(tuán)在重慶談判斗爭(zhēng)中豐富和發(fā)展了紅巖精神;解放戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)后期，面對(duì)敵人的威脅利誘，在極其艱難的條件下，以江竹筠、王樸、陳然等同志為代表的英烈群體在獄中斗爭(zhēng)中進(jìn)一步鍛造和凝結(jié)了紅巖精神。

紅巖精神是中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨在國(guó)民黨統(tǒng)治地區(qū)革命實(shí)踐中形成的革命精神，有著豐富的內(nèi)涵。在國(guó)民黨反動(dòng)派實(shí)施的白色恐怖下，一大批共產(chǎn)黨人置個(gè)人安危于不顧，把天下興亡的責(zé)任擔(dān)在肩上，為革命奉獻(xiàn)自己的全部力量，甚至不惜犧牲生命，展現(xiàn)了堅(jiān)如磐石的理想信念;以民族大義為重，以人民利益為先，始終堅(jiān)持黨的群眾路線，廣泛團(tuán)結(jié)國(guó)統(tǒng)區(qū)抗日民主力量，積極鞏固和擴(kuò)大抗日民族統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線，展現(xiàn)了和衷共濟(jì)的愛(ài)國(guó)情懷;創(chuàng)造性地貫徹執(zhí)行黨的抗日民族統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線，與國(guó)民黨的妥協(xié)投降勢(shì)力作堅(jiān)決斗爭(zhēng)，獄中同志經(jīng)受住酷刑的折磨和高官厚祿的誘惑，堅(jiān)持斗爭(zhēng)到底，在生命即將走向終點(diǎn)時(shí)用鮮血和生命總結(jié)出“獄中八條”，展現(xiàn)了艱苦卓絕的凜然斗志;眾多被關(guān)押在渣滓洞、白公館的中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人，“粉身碎骨渾不怕，要留清白在人間”，堅(jiān)持操守、寧死不屈，展現(xiàn)了百折不撓的浩然正氣。紅巖精神是中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人精神譜系的重要組成部分，成為中華民族的寶貴精神財(cái)富。

Chongqing is a heroic land with glorious revolutionary tradition and rich red resources. According to General Secretary Xi Jinping， "during the War of Liberation， many Chinese communists detained in Zazhidong Prison and White Residence prison suffered from torture， grappled， died， and sacrificed their lives for the cause of China's liberation， and left behind "Hongyan spirit". He stressed that "we should use these red resources to educate and guide Party members and cadres to fortify their ideals and beliefs， develop integrity， enhance their commitment to the "Four Consciousnesses"， the "Four-sphere Confidence" and the "Two Upholds"， and always maintain a high degree of consistency with the CPC Central Committee in terms of political position， political direction， political principles and political path".

Hongyan was the seat of the leading body of the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the early stage of the War of Liberation as well as the residence of the CPC delegation during Chongqing negotiations. The Chinese communists fighting in the Kuomintang-ruled areas had experienced stormy years of ordeal while faced with a complicated and perilous social environment and a turbulent political landscape. Comrade Mao Zedong conducted the Chongqing Negotiations that determined China's future and destiny here， and Comrade Zhou Enlai led the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to wage a resolute struggle against the reactionary forces here. A large number of inspiring and unyielding communists had emerged in Chongqing to combat the enemy. Hongyan spirit was therefore formed and developed in such a distinct environment. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression on all fronts， under the most wretched conditions with complex and intense hardships and grim tests of Party spirit， the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee represented by Comrade Zhou Enlai cultivated and formed the Hongyan spirit amid the fight to develop and grow the Chinese united front against Japanese aggression; in the beginning of the War of Liberation and at a critical historical turning point after the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression， the CPC delegation led by Comrade Mao Zedong enriched and developed the Hongyan spirit in the negotiations and struggles in Chongqing for the future of the country and the destiny of the nation; in the later stage of the War of Liberation， facing the threat and inducement of the enemy， under extremely difficult conditions， the heroic groups represented by Comrades Jiang Zhujun， Wang Pu and Chen Ran further forged and condensed the Hongyan spirit in their ordeals in prison.

Hongyan spirit was the revolutionary spirit formed by the Communist Party of China in the revolutionary practice in the areas ruled by the Kuomintang， hence rich connotation. Under the white terror of the Kuomintang reactionaries， a myriad of communists disregarded their personal safety， shouldered the responsibility for the world， devoted all their strength to revolution， and even sacrificed their lives for ideals and convictions; they put national interests first， always adhered to the Party's mass line， extensively rallied the Chinese united front against Japanese aggression in the Kuomintang-ruled areas， and manifested patriotism and solidarity; they creatively implemented the Party's Chinese united front against Japanese aggression and resolutely fought against the compromise and surrender forces of the Kuomintang. Comrades in prison withstood the torture and the temptation of fame and gain， persisted in struggling to the end， and summarized the "Eight Recommendations in Prison" when their lives came to an end， showing their arduous and awe-inspiring morale; many Chinese communists detained in the Zazidong Prison and White Residence prison "were not afraid of death， but wanted to remain as clean as a whistle". They stuck to their integrity and chose death over surrender， oozing indomitable uprightness. Hongyan spirit is a key component of the inspiring principles of the Chinese communists and has become valuable spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out profoundly， "red heritage is the centralized expression of the political nature of the Communist Party of China and the source of spiritual strength of Chinese communists in a new era." Looking back to the past journey and looking ahead into the future， we must always carry on the red heritage， inspire the morale and guide the direction with the Party's struggles and great achievements， and firmly believe in the glorious tradition and fine style of the Party， gather strength， use the Party's historical experience and practice to create enlightening wisdom and temper character， build on the prior achievements and forge ahead， safeguard the country built by the revolutionary martyrs and develop it well， as well as create new achievements that meet the expectations of the revolutionary forefathers， stand the test of time and satisfy the people. To carry forward the Hongyan spirit， Party members and cadres should vigorously uphold the red tradition， inherit the red gene， consolidate the foundation of faith， reinforce the faith， stabilize the thought， always maintain the revolutionary's fearless striving spirit， and perk up to embark on a new journey and march into a new era.

"The red plums blooming on the red rock. A boundless stretch of ice and frost ground is under-foot. Fearing not the intense cold during the frigid days. The proud red plums blooming in the red sun， in the red sun." The song Red Plum Laud expressed the lofty ideal and firm conviction of the Chinese communists. In the new era， when carrying forward the Hongyan spirit， continuing red heritage， keeping the faith of victory， upholding the struggling spirit， and enhancing the fighting skills， we will definitely be able to inspire an invincible force， overcome various risks and challenges on the way forward， and constantly compose a magnificent chapter of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
