My Weekend

Organized by the student union, a group of volunteers went to Hope Farm to help the farmers pick peaches last weekend. The farm is situated at the foot of a mountain. There are different kinds of fruit trees.

On arriving, we saw red ripe peaches hanging on the tree. Using baskets and ladders,we first picked the ones that were most beautiful in color, then those that were ripe and soft. I couldn't wait to take a bite, and the sweet juice went down my throat.

I was grateful for this opportunity to get close to nature. Not only would I be able to experience fruit picking, but I could also feast on the sweetness!

3. not...too much表示肯定

We can't emphasize the importance of protecting our eyes too much. 我們再怎么強調保護眼睛的重要性也不為過。

4. which引導非限制性定語從句

The majority of people take in too much fat and not enough fibre, which does great harm to their health. 大多數(shù)人攝入的脂肪太多，而纖維不足，這對他們的健康有害。

5. There is no doubt that+同位語從句

There is no doubt that such a deed should be encouraged. 毫無疑問這種行為應該得到鼓勵。

6. it作形式主語

It has been one of the traditional Chinese virtues to help those in trouble. 幫助處在困難中的人一直是中華傳統(tǒng)美德之一。

7. advocate +that從句（虛擬語氣）

I strongly advocate that all of us should learn from him and always be ready to help others. 我極力提倡我們大家應該向他學習并且隨時做好幫助他人的準備。

8. no matter+wh-從句（讓步狀語從句）

No matter what happens tomorrow, hold on to today and you won't regret. 無論明天發(fā)生什么，只要緊緊抓住今天，你就不會后悔。

9. have no alternative but+帶to的不定式
