Giraffes are very tall animals. They have very long tongues. A giraffes tongue can be fifty centimeters long！ Giraffes use their tongues for cleaning themselves. They can even clean their ears with their tongues！ Their tongues are important for other things， too.

A giraffes favorite food is green leaves of the acacia① trees. These trees have sharp thorns②， but the giraffes tongue can go between them.
