There are some quite cold places in the world. The people there live very different lives. Here are four of the coldest places in the world.

Verkhoyansk has 1，434 people. It lies 404 miles from Yakutsk， another cold place and 1，500 miles south of the North Pole. People move to Verkhoyansk. Thats because in January the temperature is -56℃ and temperature stays below zero from October to April. In 1892， the lowest temperature was -90℃.

People in Oymyakon feel sick about the weather. They point out that the lowest temperature is -90℃ on February 6， 1933. 500 to 800 people call Oymyakon home， a three-day drive from Yakutsk. Schools stay open when its -52℃. The village gets its name after a hotspring， which people can get warm water from.

Fraser sits at 8，574 feet in Colorado Rocky Mountains and it is home to 910 people. It lies near Winter Park. The temperature is only -32.5℃， and in summer the lowest temperature is -29℃ in June. International Falls has a colder winter， but the temperature in Fraser is lower.

Hell becomes one of the coldest places with only 1，400 people because of its temperatures. The temperature in January was -25℃. Tourists have traveled to Hell in recent years， and took photos of themselves in front of one of the towns train station signs. Hell gets ice during a third of the year， running from December through March.
