Dont get me wrong. I think my dog is the greatest， but it just so happens that hes not from this planet2.

My parents are part-time astronauts3， and one weekend they took a trip to Neptune （they love it in the summer）. Sometimes when they go to outer space， they bring me back rocks or plants from Mars or my favorite dish， Pluto4 pancakes， but not this time.

When they arrived home from Neptune （after they parked their space ship）， they had a big box with them. I had never seen an animal like what was inside， so I named it after the first thing it ate： a shoe.

They said that Shoe was the smartest dog on Neptune. He could roll5 over， play cards， cook， and use a computer. But since I dont speak Neptunian， I couldnt get him to do any of those things， and I had to start teaching him all over again.

I think that on Neptune dogs must eat human food because Shoe likes to eat what Im eating， but he hates his dog food. Hes a lot faster than any of the earth dogs in the neighborhood. He can beat6 any of them in a race， because all Neptunians are good at sports.

I think dogs and squirrels7 are enemies8 on Neptune because Shoe is always barking9 at them. Also， I think that on Neptune， dog bowls are made like ours because Shoe loves drinking from ours.

我認(rèn)為狗和松鼠在海王星上應(yīng)該是敵人，因?yàn)樾菘偸菍χ鼈兛穹?。我還覺得在海王星上，狗的碗和我們的碗一樣，因?yàn)樾菹矚g在我們碗里喝水。

Shoe can eat more food than anyone on earth ever could. I know this for certain because my uncle can eat the most food in the world， and Shoe eats more than he does.

I think that Neptune is as good a place as any to come from， and Im glad Shoe is from there. I wouldnt change a single thing about him.

Next weekend my mom and dad are going to Saturn10. Shoe and I are both hoping that they dont bring back a cat.
