February is a wonderful month as we are having winter holiday and the Spring Festival in this month. As we know， people in China are allowed to restat home at Spring Festival， and today， let's learn some expressions about holidays and talk about what we should do during the holidays.

二月是一個很棒的月份，因為我們可以在這個月過寒假和春節(jié)。眾所周知，在中國人們在春節(jié)假期可以休息。今天，就讓我們學(xué)學(xué)節(jié)假日的表達(dá)方法，談?wù)勗趺炊冗^假期吧。

I. Definitions of "holiday" and "festival"

在中國，我們有許多法定節(jié)假日，在英文中，我們可以把它稱為legalholiday，牛津詞典對它的定義是a public holiday thatis fixed by law.

holiday有三種定義：

a day when most people do not go to work or school， especiallybecause of a religious or national celebration假日，節(jié)日（尤指宗教節(jié)日或國家慶典日）

Today is Presidents' Day， a federal holiday. 今天是總統(tǒng)紀(jì)念日，一個聯(lián)邦假日。

11. Advice on holidays.

1. Plan your time in advance事先做好計劃

You might find yourself being alone and bored without a plan， so make your plan in advance. Find books and movies you have always wanted to read and watch， then read or watch them， after finishing your homework.

3. Volunteer當(dāng)志愿者

It's better to give than to receive. There are some ways to spread happiness to those in need： deliver homemade cookies to old people's home， cheer the kids up at a local Children's Hospital， help provide a holiday meal for the homeless.
