After he ate his breakfast， Willie， the donkey2 had nothing to do. He ran quickly across his small grassland and rolled in the dirt. “Ah-choo！” The dirt made Willie sneeze3. He looked around for something better to do.

在吃完了自己的早餐以后，一只名叫威利的驢無(wú)事可做。它疾馳過(guò)小小的草場(chǎng)，在泥巴里面打滾?！鞍⑻纾　蹦嗤磷屗蛄艘粋€(gè)噴嚏。它到處看，看有什么事情可以做。

When Farmer Jones went into the barn4， the little donkey unlatched5 the gate， ran down the road， jumped over the fence6， and ran асrоss thе nехt grassland tо visit his nеighburs.

當(dāng)農(nóng)夫瓊斯走進(jìn)谷倉(cāng)的時(shí)候，小驢子打開(kāi)了大門(mén)的栓子，沿著小路奔跑，跳過(guò)柵欄，穿過(guò)相鄰的草場(chǎng)去看它的鄰居們。

“Hee-haw！” Willie raced behind the tall horses. “Hee-haw！” Willie nuzzled7 the sheep. “Hee-haw！” Willie were playing with the pigs in the mud. Now Willie had something to do.

“喲呵！”威利和高大的馬兒比速度。“喲呵！”威利用鼻子摩擦綿羊的毛?！皢押?！”威利和在泥巴里的小豬們一起玩?！，F(xiàn)在威利終于算是有事做了。

Soon， the neighbor called Farmer Jones. “Your donkey is over here.”

不久，鄰居叫來(lái)了農(nóng)夫瓊斯，說(shuō)：“你們家的驢跑到這邊來(lái)了?！?/p>

Farmer Jones sighed8， “Ill come get him.” And he did.

農(nóng)夫瓊斯嘆息道：“我會(huì)把它抓回去的?！彼_實(shí)這么做了。

The next morning， after breakfast， Willie played with butterflies. Then he watched Farmer Jones harvest a bag of soybeans9. When Farmer Jones drove the tractor10 back into the barn， Willies ears fall down. He had nothing to do. So the little donkey unlatched the gate， ran down the road， jumped over the fence， and ran across the next grassland to visit his neighbors.

第二天早晨，早飯之后，威利追逐著蝴蝶。然后它看見(jiàn)農(nóng)夫瓊斯收割了一大袋大豆。當(dāng)農(nóng)夫瓊斯開(kāi)著拖拉機(jī)回到谷倉(cāng)的時(shí)候，威利的耳朵垂下來(lái)了，它又無(wú)事可做了。所以，這只小驢子又打開(kāi)了大門(mén)的栓子，沿著小路奔跑，跳過(guò)柵欄，穿過(guò)相鄰的草場(chǎng)去看它的鄰居們。

Willie munched11 on flowers in their front yard. He ate the pie cooling on the windowsill12. He played hide-and-seek in the flapping13 clothes on the clothesline.

威利大聲地咀嚼著院墻前面的花，吃了晾在窗臺(tái)上的薄餅，還和晾衣繩上晃動(dòng)的衣物玩捉迷藏。

Soon， the neighbor called Farmer Jones. “Your donkey is over here again.”

不久，鄰居又叫來(lái)了農(nóng)夫瓊斯，說(shuō)：“你們家的驢又跑到這邊來(lái)了?！?/p>

Farmer Jones sighed， “Ill come get him.” And he did.

農(nóng)夫瓊斯依舊是嘆息道：“我會(huì)把它抓回去的。”他又一次這么做了。

The next morning， after breakfast， Willie watched a big truck drove down the road. It stopped in front of the barn. Farmer Jones helped the driver unload some wooden boxes. When they were opened， out six white geese， who looked at their new home.

又一個(gè)早晨，早飯之后，威利看見(jiàn)一輛大卡車(chē)沿著小路開(kāi)了進(jìn)來(lái)，停在谷倉(cāng)的前面。農(nóng)夫瓊斯幫司機(jī)卸了一些木箱。當(dāng)他們把木箱打開(kāi)的時(shí)候，有六只大白鵝從里面走了出來(lái)，它們到處看，熟悉新家。

“Hee-haw！ Hee-haw！” Willie ran over to greet the geese. They flapped their wings at him.

“喲呵，喲呵！”威利跑到大白鵝面前跟它們問(wèn)好，大白鵝們向它揮動(dòng)翅膀。

Willie and the geese had a friendly conversation.

威利和大白鵝們進(jìn)行著一段友好的對(duì)話。

After a while， the geese walked off to the pond to swim. Willie didnt feel like following them to the pond， even though they were very nice geese. So the little donkey unlatched the gate and ran down the road.

不久之后，大白鵝們下到池塘里面游泳。盡管它們很漂亮，但是威利不喜歡跟著它們。所以，小驢打開(kāi)了大門(mén)的栓子，沿著小路跑了。

But before he reached the other grassland， he heard loud screeching14. The six geese were running toward Willies grassland. Behind them came a big red fox with glittering15 eyes.

但是當(dāng)它到達(dá)其它草場(chǎng)之前，聽(tīng)到了很大的尖叫聲。六只鵝正跑向威利所在的草場(chǎng)，它們身后跟著一只眼睛閃著光的紅狐貍。

Willie ran back up the road. He opened the gate. Then he ran toward the fox， just as it was about to jump at the geese.

威利沿著小路跑回去，打開(kāi)了大門(mén)，正當(dāng)狐貍快要攻擊大白鵝的時(shí)候，威利跑向了那只狐貍。

“Hee-haw！” Willie kicked at the fox with his sharp hoofs16. The fox was scared and ran across the grassland， not looking back.

“喲呵！”威利用自己鋒利的蹄子朝狐貍踢過(guò)去。狐貍害怕了，它逃離了草場(chǎng)，再也沒(méi)有回頭看。

The geese thanked around Willie for his help. Willie had saved them from the fox.

大白鵝們感謝威利的幫忙，因?yàn)橥麖暮偟氖掷锇阉鼈兙攘讼聛?lái)。

The next morning， after breakfast， Willie didnt unlatch the gate. He didnt ran down the road. Willie stayed home with his new friends. The little donkey now had something very important to do.

又一個(gè)早晨，還是早飯之后，威利再也不扒開(kāi)大門(mén)的栓子了，也不沿著小路奔跑了。它和新朋友們待在家里，小驢子有了更重要的事情要做。
