辨析：instead of和instead

（1）作為短語介詞，instead of 后面常跟名詞、代詞和動名詞。

（2）instead是副詞，意為“代替;反而”。

instead常用在句末，也可用在句首，這時多用逗號與句子的主體部分隔開。

I didnt have a pen， so I used a pencil instead.

注意：用instead的句子也可以改成instead of。

1. unless引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句

unless是連詞，意為“除非;如果不”，含有否定意義，相當(dāng)于if... not。

She will keep on singing unless she is told to stop.

=She will keep on singing if she is not told to stop.

她會一直唱下去，除非有人叫她停止。

注意：

（1）unless引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句時，如果主句是一般將來時，從句用一般現(xiàn)在時表將來。

（2）unless引導(dǎo)的條件狀語從句也可以用or （否則） 來做同義句轉(zhuǎn)換。

Unless you listen carefully， you wont know the answer.

=You should listen carefully， or you wont know the answer. 除非你仔細(xì)聽，否則你不會知道答案。

2. as soon as 引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句

as soon as是連詞詞組，意為“―……就……”。

（1）so+形容詞/副詞+that從句
