基本語法

形容詞和副詞的最高級

1.定義

形容詞和副詞的最高級用于三者或三者以上的人或事物之間的比較，表示有一個在某一方面超過其他幾個。

I think Hangzhou is the most beautiful city in China.

我認(rèn)為杭州是中國最美的城市。

2.構(gòu)成

（1）單音節(jié)和少數(shù)雙音節(jié)詞

① 一般在詞尾加-est

tall—tallest ? ?cold—coldest

② 以e結(jié)尾的詞，只在詞尾加-st

nice—nicest ? ?large—largest

③ 以“輔音字母+y”結(jié)尾的詞，先變y為i，再加-est

heavy—heaviest ? ?easy—easiest ? ?busy—busiest

④ 以重讀閉音節(jié)結(jié)尾的詞，雙寫最末的一個輔音字母，再加-est

hot—hottest ? ?big—biggest ? ?fat—fattest ? ?thin—thinnest

3.用法

（1）形容詞最高級前一般要用定冠詞the，當(dāng)最高級前有物主代詞、指示代詞或名詞所有格等修飾時，則不用定冠詞the。副詞最高級前的the可以省略。

Miss Li is our best English teacher.

李老師是我們最好的英語老師。

（2）在含有最高級的句子中，一般都會有一個表示比較范圍的短語。常用介詞among，of和in表范圍。

She is the smartest among us.

她是我們當(dāng)中最聰明的。

（3）形容詞的最高級前可加定語或狀語;far，by far，almost，nearly等可修飾形容詞最高級。

Asia is by far the largest continent in the world.

亞洲目前是世界上最大的洲。

（4）序數(shù)詞可修飾形容詞的最高級。

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.

黃河是中國第二長河。

（5）“the + 最高級 + of/in/among...”與“比較級 + than any other + 單數(shù)名詞”可以互相轉(zhuǎn)換。

He is the tallest boy in our class.

= He is taller than any other boy in our class.
