前情提要：沒(méi)有按時(shí)交作業(yè)的亞瑟第二天早晨要去校長(zhǎng)辦公室，他很害怕。晚上，亞瑟做噩夢(mèng)了。他夢(mèng)見(jiàn)自己來(lái)到了酸黃瓜世界，還被酸黃瓜警察追趕。危急之下，朵拉救了他。然后，他們來(lái)到了酸黃瓜鎮(zhèn)……

“Look!” said D.W. “A pickle steeple!”

“Look!” said Arthur. “Pickle people!”

“看！”朵拉說(shuō)，“酸黃瓜屋頂！”

“看！”亞瑟說(shuō)，“酸黃瓜人！

“Didn’t do his homework!” said Pickle Nose.

“Lied that he did!” said Pickle Toes.

“他說(shuō)謊了！” 酸黃瓜腳趾小姐說(shuō)。

“You’re going to jail, and absolutely no bail! ” shouted Judge Picklepuss.

The jailer put Arthur on a pickle diet, and every day he said, “Just try it.”

“Let me out! Don’t be so mean. I’ve had it,”moaned Arthur. “I’m turning green.”

“放我出去！你們這些壞蛋！我受夠了！”亞瑟大喊，“我都快變成酸黃瓜了！”

Suddenly, Arthur woke up.

He went to his desk, opened his book, and did his homework.

At school, Arthur went right to the principal’s of fi ce.

“I cannot tell a lie,” he said.

“My dog did not eat my homework.

I did not do my homework.

But here it is now. I’m sorry.”

The principal smiled. “Well, thank you, Arthur,” he said.

第二天一早，亞瑟來(lái)到校長(zhǎng)辦公室。

“我不該說(shuō)謊，”他說(shuō)，“我的小狗沒(méi)有吃掉我的作業(yè)，是我自己沒(méi)有做作業(yè)，不過(guò)現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)做完了。對(duì)不起?！?/p>

“很好，謝謝你，亞瑟。”校長(zhǎng)微笑著回應(yīng)。

Arthur felt great all day, until he asked,

“What’s for dinner?” and Dad said,“Pickled cabbage!”

整整一天，亞瑟都很開(kāi)心，直到晚飯時(shí)候，他問(wèn)爸爸：“我們吃什么？”

“酸白菜！”爸爸回答。
