        This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of CSSC Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co.,Ltd.

        In the past 20 years, under the leadership of CSSC, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has carried forward the entrepreneurial spirit of taking the world first and built a beach in the Yangtze River Estuary into a modern ship assembly plant with beautiful environment, advanced facilities and world reputation.

        In the past two decades, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has pursued excellence unswervingly, and has become China’s first shipyard with the annual shipbuilding completion exceeding 8 million deadweight tons, the first to successfully build the sixth generation of the world's 3000-meter deep-water semi-submersible drilling platform, and the first shipyard to build a large cruise ship.

        At present, the heat of the fourth industrial revolution is unprecedented,and intelligent manufacturing has become a new trend of global manufacturing development. For Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, this is an important historic juncture of transformation and upgrading.In the face of this situation, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has determined the overall thinking, implementation principles and development goals of intelligent manufacturing, actively explored a new path of intelligent manufacturing, and made great efforts to improve the digital,networked and intelligent level of ship assembly construction.

        The overall idea of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding to promote intelligent manufacturing is to carry out the high quality development strategy outline of a manufacturing power and CSSC, to establish the overall structure of MBSE(model-based system engineering), to take lean production and fine management as the goal, to take knowledge, model and data as the core, and to improve the capabilities of digital design, process reengineering, equipment intelligence,informatization and industrialization integration and supply chain management as the principal line. Through the integration of knowledge and business, improve the design quality, production efficiency,reduce the comprehensive cost, constantly enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise,to achieve the purpose of customer satisfaction, to achieve the high quality development of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.

        The implementation principle of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding to promote intelligent manufacturing is on the basis of digitization, taking network as the key, intelligence as the orientation, cost and benefit as the core, key projects as the support, through pilot,demonstration guide mode, and advancing in an orderly manner by the levels of point, line, surface and body. In this process, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will follow the “seven insistence”, that is, insist on not carrying out automation in backward technology; insist on not carrying out informatization in backward management; insist on no intelligentizing when there is no network and digital foundation; insist on building an efficient ship construction system guided by “l(fā)ean shipbuilding”; insist on service process programming, service management standardization and service quality standardization in shipbuilding as the basis, improve the level of automation, digital production; insist on taking the“information perception” as the source, establish an intelligent management and control platform for the process of shipbuilding;insist on intelligent technology as a means to improve the quality and efficiency of shipbuilding.The company will continue to“make up missed lessons”,update, continue to improve the level of automation, networking and intelligence.

        The purpose of intelligent manufacturing in Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is to reduce the cost, shorten the production cycle, reduce the defective rate of products and respond to the market quickly. Among them, the most important and fundamental is to improve the production efficiency. This involves a series of links, such as resource consumption, product quality, environmental impact and cost reduction. On the basis of computer aided design(CAD), product data management(PDM), manufacturing enterprise production process execution system (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other information systems, equipment interconnection, automatic data acquisition, workshop job planning automatic scheduling,production real-time progress tracking feedback and realtime monitoring of material consumption and quality problems must be realized.

        Therefore, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will strengthen the top-level planning and design, deepen the informatization and industrialization integration, optimize the process, promote lean management and fine production,vigorously promote lean shipbuilding,comprehensively enhance the integration level of design, manufacturing and management, and take the in-depth application of digital, networked and intelligent technology as the main line to realize the digitization of the manufacturing process and real-time intelligent management and control in a bid to become one of the ship assembly construction intelligent enterprises with strong international competitiveness by 2035.

        In order to achieve the goal of intelligent manufacturing, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will tamp the development foundation of intelligent manufacturing by carrying out the following key tasks.

        Improve the level of 3D digital design and intelligent design based on model. The introduction and application of Smart 3D will be taken as the opportunity to improve the three-dimensional design level based on model, including 2D drive based on rules, 3D digital design capability, VR and AR technology application capability, application capability of 3D model design model and 3D process standard, etc. Take the largescale cruise ship innovation project as the traction, the second development of Smart 3D is deepened and the design efficiency is improved.

        Strengthen basic control and lean management. Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will establish and perfect the fine standard of man-hour quantity, strengthen the management of project plan, and perfect the management system of quality and precision.

        Strengthen information infrastructure construction and network security capacity building. Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will target multi-field integrated application, rely on Internet of Things, cloud computing and other technologies, adjust network architecture,integrate infrastructure resources,optimize IT service management process,improve information security level,and build a secure, agile and open infrastructure platform centered on service.

        Promote the development,introduction and application of key equipment for intelligent manufacturing.Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will in line with the Action Plan for Intelligent Transformation of ship Assembly Construction (2019-2021), issued jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry of National Defense. In view of the requirements of key equipment,especially the dirty, dangerous and difficult and simple repeated operation processes such as cutting, forming,welding and painting of hull parts, as well as key links such as detection and assembly, logistics and warehousing,the intelligent manufacturing unit of ships and the construction demand of intelligent production line are taken as traction, develop or introduce and apply intelligent manufacturing equipment,realize engineering application, and promote automation, digital and intelligent operation of key production processes.

        Promote the intelligent transformation of R&D, production,management and service process.Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will promote the intelligent design based on model and knowledge drive, take the cruise design platform upgrade as the opportunity,realize whole process connection of design data and model as well as modeldriven production with the whole process technological planning and the field visualization operation, the digital design,the intelligent manufacturing and the fine management integration. Establish a comprehensive intelligent management and control system of production process with extensive interconnection, real-time perception and accurate execution.

        Develop Industrial Internet platform, support intelligent manufacturing in an all-round way.Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will strengthen the construction of Industrial Internet infrastructure as well as research and breakthrough of key technologies of industrial Internet platform.
