This exhibition consists of six modules involving a number of media such as oil paintings, installations, video and paper works. The exhibition features important works by Chinese artist Wang Huanqing since 1982 not only to trace the development of his art and the aesthetics underneath but also to provide a case study on how the spirit of the 85 New Wave Movement continues to be interpreted and practiced in Chinese contemporary art.

Wang was born in 1958 in northern Chinas Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and graduated with a degree in fine arts from Hebei Normal University. He now teaches at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
