◇詞語解析

each

each既可用作形容詞，也可用作代詞，意為“每個”，常指兩個或兩個以上的人或物中的每個。作形容詞時，一般修飾單數(shù)名詞；作代詞時，常充當主語，此時謂語動詞要用單數(shù)形式。例如：

Each person has a dream.每個人都有一個夢想。

Each of us has a dictionary.我們每個人都有一本詞典。

different與differently

different是形容詞，意為“不同的”，可單獨作表語或定語，也可用于短語be different from(與……不同)中。例如：

The answer would be different.答案將會不同。

My sweater is different from yours.我的毛衣與你的不同。

differently是副詞，意為“不同地”，在句中通常用作狀語。例如：

The Americans spell some words differently from the British.美國人拼寫某些單詞不同于英國人。

yet

yet是副詞，意為“還；仍然”，常用于否定句或疑問句，并放在句尾。例如：

She has not seen a doctor yet.她還沒有看過醫(yī)生。

Is everything ready yet?一切都準備好了嗎？

the number of

the number of意為“……的數(shù)量”，作主語時謂語動詞要用單數(shù)形式。例如：

The number of candles is the person's age.蠟燭的數(shù)量就是過生日的人的年齡。

【拓展】a number of意為“很多的”，作主語時謂語動詞要用復數(shù)形式。

hurry up

hurry up 意為“趕快；抓緊”，是“動詞+副詞”構(gòu)成的短語，用來催促某人做某事。例如：

Could you hurry up in the bath?你能不能快點洗澡？

Hurry up,or you will be late.快點，否則你要遲到了。

belong

belong意為“屬于；歸屬”，是不及物動詞，通常與介詞 to連用，組成belong to短語。例如：

From now on,this house belongs to you.從現(xiàn)在起，這房子就屬于你了。
