這就意味著救曼尼的方法只剩一種了，就是從與波波池相接的螺旋塑料滑梯逆行而上。我本來就有點幽閉恐懼癥，所以實在不情愿爬這玩意兒。That meant the only way I could get to Manny was to climb up the spiral plastic slide that empties into the ball pit.I am not a fan of dark,enclosed spaces to begin with,so I wasn’t looking forward to crawling up that thing.

我從管底往上喊話以確保管道通暢，但這幫孩子完全無視我，直接往下滑。I yelled into the bottom to make sure the coast was clear,but kids ignored me and came sliding down anyway.

擠過這輪塞車之后，我一路爬到頂，開始在管道迷宮里完美匍匐著尋找曼尼。這里面沒有排氣孔，充滿臭襪子的味兒。Once I made it past the traffic jam and got all the way to the top,I started crawling around through the maze of tubes to try and find Manny.There was no ventilation up there,and it reeked of dirty socks.

我發(fā)現(xiàn)讓我來搜救曼尼那是找錯人了，因為我向來對迷宮沒轍。老媽和我今年秋天去了一次雷諾農(nóng)莊的玉米田迷宮，老媽本來是指望我來找到出口的。I realized I was the wrong person to go looking for Manny,though,because I’ve always been bad at mazes.This fall me and Mom went in the corn maze at Reynold’s Farm,and Mom was counting on me tofind the way out.

結(jié)果卻被我給帶迷路了，老媽只好打911報警電話請來救兵。But I got us so lost that Mom had to call911 for someone to come rescue us.

這次我就沒有老媽的手機可以用來求救了。有個小孩在管道一頭吐了，結(jié)果孩子們一路沖到我這邊向滑梯狂奔。This time I didn’s have Mom’s cell phone to bail me out.And when some kids threw up at one end of the tunnel,all the other kids came rushing my way to get to the slide.

最后，我在其中一條管道里找到了曼尼，不過我自己也快崩潰了，不得不由一個服務(wù)員爬上來把我和曼尼帶下去。Eventually,I found Manny in one of the tunnels,but by then I was ready to crack up.So one of the waiters had to climb up and rescue Manny and me.

最悲劇的是我不得不丟掉那條我最喜歡的牛仔褲，因為我怎么洗都洗不掉那股臭腳丫味兒，用漂白粉漂了三次都不行。The worst part of the whole experience was that I had to throw out my favorite pair of jeans because I couldn’t get rid of the smell of feet,even after washing them with bleach three times.
