中國(guó)4G用戶數(shù)量超過(guò)11億China Has over 1.1billion 4G Mobile Users

據(jù)工信部統(tǒng)計(jì)，中國(guó)4G移動(dòng)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)用戶已超過(guò)11億。工信部的一份報(bào)告顯示，截至今年6月底，包括3G和4G用戶在內(nèi)的移動(dòng)寬帶用戶達(dá)到12.6億，占全國(guó)手機(jī)用戶總數(shù)的83.2%。上半年電信行業(yè)總收入為人民幣6720億元(約合994.4億美元)，同比增長(zhǎng)4.1%。中國(guó)擁有全球最大的4G網(wǎng)絡(luò)，今年的目標(biāo)是新增45萬(wàn)座4G基站，以提高在諸如大廈、電梯及其他室內(nèi)空間和鐵路、高速公路的信號(hào)覆蓋率。

The number of fourth-generation mobile internet users in China has exceeded 1.1 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.Mobile broadband users including 3G and 4G subscribers reached 1.26 billion by the end of June this year, accounting for 83.2 percent of the country’s total mobile phone accounts, an MIIT report showed recently. The telecom sector raked in 672 billion yuan(US$99.44 billion) in business revenue , up 4.1 percent year on year.China has the world’s largest 4G network , with a goal to add 450,000 new 4G base stations this year to improve signal coverage in buildings, elevators, and other indoor space, as well as on railways and expressways.

By editing chromosomes—the DNA molecules that carry an organism’s genetic information—Chinese scientists have created a yeast strain with all the genetic information fused into a single chromosome, rather than the customary 16 for this species.It marks the first time that organisms that naturally have multiple chromosomes have been artificially transformed into a singlechromosome form, scientists said. The modified organisms have shown no change in their life functions from their natural counterparts, they said.The research team from Shanghai said the breakthrough may provide possible insights into further research on telomeres—the “caps” on either end of a chromosome, which are closely related to aging and disease—and the effectiveness of new medications targeting such “caps”.A paper about their research was published online by Nature, and scientists believed it was a milestone breakthrough in the field of synthetic biology.

漢語(yǔ)超德語(yǔ)成“英國(guó)高考”熱門(mén)科目A-level Results Day 2018: Chinese Overtakes German for First Time

在英國(guó)今年的A-level考試中，選考漢語(yǔ)的考生人數(shù)首次超過(guò)德語(yǔ)，漢語(yǔ)成為英國(guó)第三大熱門(mén)語(yǔ)言。今年有3334名學(xué)生報(bào)考了漢語(yǔ)A-level考試，德語(yǔ)有3058人。選考漢語(yǔ)的報(bào)名人數(shù)比去年增長(zhǎng)了8.6%，而德語(yǔ)則減少了16.5%。法語(yǔ)仍然是A-level中選考人數(shù)最多的現(xiàn)代語(yǔ)言，其次是西班牙語(yǔ)。英國(guó)教育部國(guó)務(wù)大臣尼克·吉布說(shuō)：“現(xiàn)在對(duì)年輕人來(lái)說(shuō)，學(xué)習(xí)外語(yǔ)比以往時(shí)候都更加重要。一個(gè)開(kāi)放的國(guó)際化國(guó)家需要新一代的年輕人熟悉海外貿(mào)易伙伴的語(yǔ)言和文化?！?/p>

Chinese A-level has overtaken German for the first time, as it becomes the UK’s third most popular language.This year 3,334 students took Chinese A-level, compared to 3,058 taking German. While entries for Chinese have increased by 8.6 percent since last year, German entries have declined by 16.5 percent.French remains the most popular modern language A-level followed by Spanish.Mark Herbert, director of schools and skills at the British Council,welcomed the rise in Chinese A-level entries.Nick Gibb, the schools minister, said: “It has never been more important for young people to learn a foreign language than now.An outward looking global nation needs a new generation of young people comfortable with the language and culture of our overseas trading partners.”
