Helping children enjoy science is easy. Just share their curiosity. Firstly， listen to their questions. I once talked about science with several seven-year-olds in class. The children asked me “textbook questions” about schooling， salary and whether I liked my job. Having finished answering， we sat in silence. Finally I said， “Now that weve finished with your lists， do you have your own questions？” Then a boy asked， “When I try eating leaves， I get a stomachache. Thirdly， watch your language. Once you have a child involved in a science discussion， dont jump in with “Thats right” or “Very good”. Because quick praise can signal that discussion is over. Whats more， this can turn a conversation into a performance. The child will try to find the answer you want in as few words as possible， so that he will be a smaller target for your disagreement.

Lastly， dont tell the facts. Real life impressions of nature are far more impressive. Let children look at their fingertips through a magnifying glass（放大鏡）， and theyll understand why they should wash hands before dinner. Some people will do just about anything to save money. And I am one of them. Take my familys last vacation for example.
