The mountain ranges of white rocks are magnifi cent. It is said that once a million years ago here was a vast ocean. The Dolomites had slept on the seabed for about 250,000,000 years, and then tectonic movements have caused this area to rise and form one of the most unique peaks in the Alps. The unique structure distinguishes the Dolomites as the most beautiful mountain groupto many tourists and the Dolomites have been included in the World Natural Heritage List by the United Nations.
