        【Abstract】:The historical ceramics art always represents excellent Chinese nation culture. Especially in the early 1980s, after the reform and opening, with propose of the western art idea and modern art theory, it has offer more wide development room for various artistic.

        As time changes and social development, people require more emotional works to adjust to the single life of industrialization. Meanwhile, the the application of personalized ceramics ware or its decoration is already to be a fashion with the culture level improvement. In order to meet the people’s increasing aesthetic ability and requirements,modern ceramics art design changes quietly.

        I.Modern Ceramics Art Connations

        At the beginning of 1950s, ceramics art is nascent and has essential transformed. From then one, the modern ceramics is continuously exploited in various groups and create a completely new art atmosphere.

        Modern ceramics art is regards the porcelain clay and potty clay as medium, and its operation is not only limited to traditional ceramics production specification, but it showed on many aspects ,such as modeling, firing, the enamel presentation methods etc. This remove the traditional utility function, but it attracts more importance to artist’s self- recognition and absorb freedom element .In one word, it is a experimental style for modern ceramics.

        Our modern ceramics started in the early 1980s, which were marked the rise in true sense. Under our open policy, the strict dictatorship culture began to be cleared away and the foreign modern art integrated into modern ceramics. Although western way functionality to Chinese modern ceramics, it has not really guarantee the moderation of Chinese ceramics. On the way to exploring, our ceramics artist are still carried hardly.

        2. Characteristics of modern ceramics

        2.1 New, transform and change in the modern ceramics art

        Since 1980s, modern ceramics art get close to people’s daily life by its unique characteristics and aesthetics implications. In addition, it has created revolution , new technology and other many functions characteristics. Those features including modern art ceramics spirit and aesthetic implications is promoting its new development in modern spirit and culture field so that it can be more dynamic.

        Throughout modern ceramics art , the main features can be defined as new, change and transform.

        Firstly it is new. Under the new rules, ceramics artists advocate explore spirit and new power is joined ,young talents become the hard core and continue to create new works. Therefore ,the modern ceramics art in demonstrated new states in changing situations .Recently, Chinese ceramics art workers enrich its culture connations and explored in art pattern.

        Change is the second. The reason why modern ceramics art has been significant successful is that it adapt to the changing trend and always change in quality, conception and technology.

        The third one is transform. The appreciation for modern ceramics focus on aesthetics value and effect. It is hard to inform this conception , because it develops with the society, art value change. As for traditional ceramics art, utility is the first, beauty is the second .

        2.2 The development trend of modern ceramics decoration art

        Modern ceramic decoration is based on the traditional ceramic decoration, is a kind of creative ceramic wares, and the comprehensive utilization of different decoration styles and different materials. Here are three notable changes.

        1.The modelling of the wares

        The shape of the vessel can show the times spirit and reflect the overall appearance of social material and cultural life.

        With the speeding up of industrialization process and deep design cultural, ceramics decoration design has not only represents a simple physical form, but also should posses function, economy, beautiful and the nature of some of the content and meaning.

        2.The form of modern ceramics decoration

        The form of modern ceramics decoration is various, the main form is ceramics painting, artistic glaze and ceramics texture etc.

        3. Comprehensive application for the materials

        Compared with the traditional ceramics decoration, the modern ceramics decoration is more open in the way of thinking and apply the various materials in the expression. This broke a original single clay technique. On the basis of the original ceramics performance, it extended integrated use to the ceramics and wood, stainless steel, glass, plastic and other materials so as to make the ceramics decoration material’s use from a single material to two or more..

        III. Conclusion

        The 20th century was a time fro blending Oriental and western culture. Modern ceramics art is also moving forward to a full, multilevel and deeper direction to present a colorful scene. Therefore, only by competing in style, genre and free, ceramics art can beautify life and make China's modern ceramics art go to a new world.

        At present, modern ceramics art has shined many glorious and more close to life, gradually meets modern work needs. Modern ceramics decoration art should not be just as pleasing to the nice shape and color as the ornament of life, it should be regarded as the life expression to inspire the enthusiasm of people in work and life.

        Understanding the significance of the ceramics itself and embody its individuality is to unify form and function . In inheriting the quintessence of traditional decoration, therefore, it should absorb the western modern culture, modern decoration art and rooted national culture and make it a new and bold attempt so that it can fully reflects the freedom of personality and the material gift.
