Members of the editorial board play a critical role at CDC. Our board members help authors navigate the editorial process by actively engaging with peer reviewers, offering guidance during revision, and ultimately determining the work that ends up in the pages of the journal. To best serve our authors, we are extremely pleased to welcome two further reputed scientists who have joined the Editorial Board, bringing the total to ten. These scientists bring new voices to the journal and offer significant expertise. We welcome our new members, and are grateful to all of our editorial board members for their contributions to CDC.
The following people have accepted invitations to serve on the Editorial Board of CDC, effective October 1,2017. Editorial Board Members are invited by the CDC Board of Directors based on several criteria, including being a frequent contributor and reviewer for the Journal. Duties of Editorial Board members include active support of the Journal’s editorial functions, i.e., reviewing manuscripts, encouraging submissions to CDC,creative input, and participation in the Editorial Board meetings.

Brief biosketches for some of the new Editorial Board members are listed below:
Dr. Ricardo Diez has worked in the cosmetic industry for four decades in R&D and Product Development positions in both consumer product companies (Procter & Gamble, Dial Corp, Chanel) and raw material manufacturers (Miranol, Stepan, Witco). He has obtained several patents and presented many papers in congresses and symposiums. At present, he imparts seminars on cosmetics for the Center for Professional Advancement,the IFSCC and the SCC with focus on product innovation via new materials and technologies. He is currently a professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, in the Master of Business and Science Program, and at the Seneca College in Toronto, Canada. He teaches courses on cosmetic science applied to product development.
Dr. Yang Jianzhong was born in Beijing, China. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1991 from Osaka City University (Osaka, Japan), followed by two postdoc’s in the U.S.A. During 1994 to 2009, Dr. Yang worked for P & G as a scientist, a senior scientist, and a principal scientist in hair care product development at R&D centers in Cincinnati (U.S.A.) and Kobe (Japan).
Dr. Yang is currently the founder and CEO of Beauty Hi-tech Innovation Co., Ltd., the president of Japan-China Cosmetic Exchange Association, and the president of Foundation for Research on Asian Scalp Health. He is also a visiting professor at Southern Yangtze University, a scientific advisor for Japan Evidence Based Cosmetics Association, and a member of editor board for several cosmetic industrial journals in China.
Dr. Yang has published over 100 scientific papers and given more than 50 conference presentations. He is also an inventor for more than 50 granted patents world-wide in hair care cosmetics.
The future of CDC depends on the expertise and selfless service of the Editorial Board. We want to warmly welcome these new editorial board members and thank them for their willingness to provide their counsel to the journal.
