“Fabrics China Spring/Summer 2018 Trend”， co-released by China Textile Information Center and China Textiles Development Center， was staged during the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics （Spring Edition 2017） that commenced on March 15th 2017 in the National Exhibition and Convention Center （Shanghai）. It covers three halls including 7.2 H - Fashion Concept Zone， 6.1 H - Menswear Trend Zone， 8.2- Womens Wear Trend Zone， showcasing China textile fabric trends to the world with the newly developed fabrics. On this occasion， Qiao Yanjin， Director of China Textile Information Center， delivered a speech at the show， revealing the essence of the trend based on the industry.

In 2017， the world economy is facing many changes， and China is increasingly becoming a powerful support in the wave of globalization， while the textile and apparel， as one of Chinas pillar industries， is taking on more and more development responsibilities. In this era of coexistence of certainty and uncertainty， the Chinese textile fabrics， Made in China and Designed by China， are not only the key carrier that links the global fashion industry trends， but also the important force that drives domestic and foreign industrial economy.

Refining professional trends to guide product development

“Fabrics China Spring/Summer 2018 Trend”， jointly released by China Textile Information Center and China Textiles Development Center， supported by Fabrics China Project and CNCSCOLOR， and strategically cooperated with Fabrics China Pioneer Plant， Fabrics China & Trend Forecast Promotion Alliance， China Fashion Alliance， China Fashion Creative Valley， and WGSN， presented thousands of new fabrics including the shortlisted works of 2017 China International Fabrics Creation Competition， the 37th Fabrics China Appraisal （Spring/Summer 2018）， and products from Fabrics China & Trend Forecast Promotion Alliance， covering an area of 580 square meters.

Under the guidance of the core concept“Funny Interest”， Fabrics China Spring/ Summer 2018 Trend contains the following four themes： “Fantastic Dimensions”，“Roaming Mindfulness”， “Emulative Heritage”， and “Naturalistic Poet”， conveying that new information technology is changing the relationship among people， time and space in an uncertain way， as well as the relationship inside human beings. New middle-class is filled with anxiety and trepidation， the independent and offbeat traits of the “Z generation”. ACG culture merges into our life and turns out to be a “new normal”； mindfulness and practices merge with daily life in a more leisurely and romantic way； more vital and dynamic expression of passing-on and regression； dramatic， artistic temperament for a poetic impression. It gave an all-round display of Chinas textile fabric innovation and fashion from the social， economic， cultural， artistic and technological aspects. Meanwhile， during the exhibition， the experts from China Textile Information Center also discussed the trend research achievements and analyzed the upstream and downstream interactive relationship in the textile and garment industrial chain， in order to guide product development， boost the overall optimization of textile and garment industry， and improve the supply side reform of the upstream textiles in the industrial chain.

Optimizing trend pioneer to link effective procurement

For a stronger voice of the right to speak in fashion industry， and also for really drawing more attentions from around the world， finally promoting the products into the world market. Fabrics China Spring/Summer 2018 Trend new products，“Funny Interest” as the core concept， integrating technology and fashion in all sections from R&D to production， selection， and release.

Moreover， the exhibiting on the spot even made greater efforts to create a multi- dimensional interactive atmosphere. For example， the booth design was of great vitality， for it can achieve interactive linkage with artificial intelligence technology through the trend videos， manuals， forums， WeChat and other channels， allowing the visitors to explore various aspects of the trend such as color， texture， and pattern while retrieving fabric information， so as to find design inspiration and lock the procurement target.

In addition， based on the worlds mobile Internet， the interaction between product development and market procurement can be achieved， and business covering area of the trend release zone will be constantly increased through “optimal selection of the excellent”.

It is noteworthy that the fabric businesses participating in the trend release are mainly from Fabrics China Pioneer Plant， while most exhibited fabrics made a breakthrough in new raw materials， new process， new technology applications as well as popular colors and popular styles. Especially， the exhibits of 16 Fabrics China & Trend Forecast Promotion Alliance enterprises from Fabrics China Pioneer Plant strictly followed the R&D promotion system of the Alliances Spring/Summer Trend 2018， each with its strengths in terms of color， texture， pattern， function， and quality， also more consistent with the international trend.

During the exhibition， China Textile Information Center and China Textiles Development Center also organized industry experts to carry out exhibition research activities， in order to conduct a thorough analysis of the status quo of product development at home and abroad from the aspects of new fibers， new technologies， new design， and terminal applications， focusing on womens wear， menswewar， sportswear and casual wear， with a view to providing new ideas and new directions to the domestic textile and garment enterprises to help the industry better face the reality， solve the problem， form advantages， and construct a better future during the 13th Five-Year Program period.
