Dick is a little bird.

He has a big round body.

His wings（翅膀）are very little.

Dick cannot fly.

But Dick wants to fly.

He wants to fly with the other（其他） birds.

He often dreams of flying.

“I want to fly. It must be great！” says Dick.

Every day， he tries（嘗試）to fly.

He tries and tries again.

But it doesn’t work（起作用）.

Dick wants to fly.

It is very difficult（難的） for him.

But he doesn’t give up（放棄）.

One day， Dick climbs（爬） a tree.

He sits on the branch（樹枝）.

“Don’t be afraid.” Dick says to himself.

“You can do it. You can fly.”

Dick takes a deep breath（深吸一口氣）.

Then he jumps ...

Dick flaps（拍打） his wings.

And he flaps some more.

But they don’t work！

Dick drops down（掉落） from the tree.

He sits under the tree.

He is so sad！

Dick wants to fly.

And he tries hard， too.

But he cannot fly.

Dick cries for a long time.

Then， Dick sits and thinks.

He sits and thinks.

Now， Dick knows that.

There are just some things some birds cannot do.

“I am a special bird.” Dick says to himself.

“I cannot fly.

But maybe， I can sing.

I can run.

I can do special things.”

Dick becomes happy now.

He wants to find his special ability（能力）.

“Yes. I am a special bird.” says Dick.

“Special birds can do special things.”
