Eric and Ella were brother and sister.

They lived in a village in India.

“What do you want to be when you grow up？ Would you like to be a rat catcher like our father？” Ella asked Eric.

“No，I dont like that. I want to be the greatest person in the world.” said Eric.

“Who is the greatest person？” Ella was confused.

So was Eric.

Eric thought the sun may be the greatest one.

So he climbed the hill and said to the sun，“You must be the greatest one in the world. Can you teach me？”

“Im sorry you have made a mistake，”

said the sun.

“Im not happy because of these

clouds. They cover my face. Im not the

greatest one in the world.”

Eric was sad and went to talk to the clouds.

He repeated his request.

But the clouds said，“We were always bullied by the wind. He pushes us around all over the place.”

“So the wind is the greatest one in the world，” Eric said to himself.

The breeze heard him and said，“The wind likes to think he is the greatest.

But if you asked him to blow over a mountain，he would be lost.”

Eric then went to find the highest mountain and asked him，“Would you like to teach me how to be the greatest person？”

“What did you say？” yawned the mountain.

“I am so tired. I havent slept for years. These rats keep me awake，gnawing and digging holes into my sides.”

“If the rats stop the mountain from sleeping，they must be more powerful. But I dont want to be a rat.” Eric said.

Ella then spoke，“There is someone more powerful than the rats and he lives with us. Our father is the best rat catcher and he can teach you.”

“Of course！” said Eric，“How silly I am！”
