天氣真冷??！同學(xué)們的家鄉(xiāng)下雪了嗎？2022年我們的首都就要舉辦第24屆冬季奧運(yùn)會啦，冰雪項(xiàng)目（ice and snow sports）也越來越受到關(guān)注。除了被我們熟知的打雪仗（snow fight）、堆雪人（building snowmen），大家還知道什么活動是可以在冰雪里玩的呢？哈爾濱國際冰雪節(jié)(Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival)將于1月5日開幕，并持續(xù)一個(gè)月。同學(xué)們會去參加這場冰雪的盛會嗎？去不了也沒關(guān)系，我們可以一起來了解好玩的冰雪世界！

How does snow form?

Snow is the flake of ice that falls from clouds. Snow usually can be seen in cold places, such as in the north of China and on the high mountains.

How to play with snow

Building snowmen

To build a snowman is to make a man-shaped figure out of snow—often using a large snowball for the body and a smaller snowball for the head. A snowman is often decorated with household things. People usually use a carrot for a nose, and coal for the eyes and the mouth.

Snow angel

A snow angel is made in fresh snow, by lying on one’s back and moving one’s arms up and down, and one’s legs from side to side, to form the shape of an angel. Making snow angels is a common childhood game.

Riding a sleigh

One of the most common uses of snow is riding a sleigh. A sleigh is usually drawn by horses or dogs.

Snow and ice sports

Curling originated in the sixteenth century in Scotland. Now it is an event of the Olympic Winter Games. Two teams take turns to slide the heavy granite curling stones towards the target. The distance between the stones and the target decides the result. This sport has its nickname of “chess on ice”.

Many other sports are played upon snow and ice, such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.

圣莫里茨，瑞士（St. Moritz, Switzerland）

圣莫里茨被壯麗的阿爾卑斯山峰環(huán)繞，是兩屆冬季奧運(yùn)會的舉辦地，被認(rèn)為是高山滑雪的“麥加圣地”。著名的冰湖賽馬（White Turf）發(fā)源于此。

基茨比厄爾，奧地利（Kitzbuhel, Austria）

基茨比厄爾被稱為“阿爾卑斯山的珍珠”，這里是整個(gè)奧地利最著名的滑雪度假勝地。這座有著700多年歷史的村莊給游客們展示了最典型的阿爾卑斯風(fēng)格。

路易斯湖，加拿大（Lake Louise, Canada）

坐落在加拿大著名的班芙國家公園中心的路易斯湖，被視為整個(gè)北美景色最迷人的山區(qū)度假村之一。

夏蒙尼，法國（Chamonix, France）

作為1924年歷史上首屆冬奧會的舉辦地，夏蒙尼被評為“世界上最著名的滑雪勝地”。

韋爾，美國（Vail, USA）

韋爾被評為世界前五佳滑雪度假村。它擁有美國最大的單片滑雪場地，提供了將近21平方千米的可滑雪區(qū)域。

科爾蒂娜，意大利（Cortina, Italy）

科爾蒂娜滑雪度假村主辦過1956年冬奧會。作為歷史最悠久的滑雪度假村，科爾蒂娜無疑是意大利最具風(fēng)格的旅游度假地。
