The largest wire and cable production enterprise in the northwestern region-Qinghai Xingming Electric Power Material Co., Ltd. has been officially put into production, meaning that Qinghai will be able to self-produce medium and high voltage or even EHV crosslinked power cables and develop and produce differentiated new products such as high-altitude cold-resistant photovoltaic cables suitable for high-altitude regions, new energy charging piles and cables and corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy wires.

Extending the industrial chain and improving the local conversion rate of traditional advantageous products such as aluminum are important ways for industrial structure transformation and upgrading in our province. After many years of construction, the industrial agglomeration and radiation effect of the Chaidamu National Circular Economy Experimental Area is gradually emerging. Qinghai Xingming Electric Power Material settled in Qinghai through the Qinghai Green Development Investment and Trade Fair and with the support of Qinghai's resources and industrial advantages, the company has realized its own development while improving the industrial chain of the experimental area, and has provided strong support for the clean energy industry in our province.

According to General Manager Zhu Jun of Qinghai Xingming Electric Power Material, as the company is a Cable manufacturer, raw material costs account for more than 80% of the company's total cost and logistics costs are also an important factor in squeezing the profit margin of cable products. At present, Qinghai is in a period of rapid development and requires a large amount of power cable products. And Qinghai's industrial foundation such as copper smelting and aluminum industries enable enterprises to purchase raw materials locally, which has greatly enhanced the competitiveness of enterprises. Therefore, Qinghai Xingming Electric Power Material decided to settle in Qinghai and took the lead in producing medium-and high-voltage power cables and EHV crosslinked power cables including 10 categories, over 50 series and over 700 specifications in the northwestern region. In addition, with the implementation of the national Belt and Road strategy, Qinghai is shifting from an inland city to an important pivot opening to the West. Power cable enterprises may take roots in Qinghai and open up new markets in the northwestern region and even the Belt and Road countries and regions.

In order to develop new markets, Qinghai Xingming Electric Power Material has partnered with Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute to develop new products suitable for high-altitude regions. A total of 170 million yuan has been invested in the launched Phase I project and a total of 500 million yuan has been invested in the Phase II project under construction. The project can produce 500 KV and above EHV cross-linked cable products, which are the highest-voltage power cable products in China.
