○ 花甲之年的王天明還在不斷嘗試新的雕刻工藝和方法，挑戰(zhàn)自己的創(chuàng)新極限。In his 60s, Wang Tianming is still trying new carving technologies and methods to challenge his innovation limit.

○ 集微畫、微書和微型工藝于一體的“三絕酒具”的大小相當于一顆花生米。The “Wine Set with Three Fabulous Features” integrating miniature calligraphy, miniature painting and miniature techniques is as big as a peanut.

畫國畫、寫書法、修手表、雕刻、拉小提琴，將這些才能集于一身的就是山東省知名工藝美術大師王天明先生。

王天明出生在上海，成長于齊魯，自幼在書香濃郁的家庭環(huán)境里長大，學齡時開始學習傳統(tǒng)知識和書畫藝術。上中學時，突如其來的“文革”中斷了王天明的求學路。他先是下鄉(xiāng)養(yǎng)馬，后上山干了4年的鉗工，期間王天明克難攻堅、精益求精，成了廠里手藝最巧的技工。他還利用業(yè)余時間為同事、朋友修好了1000多塊手表。

而立之年，王天明與微雕邂逅。剎那間，多年累積的藝術素養(yǎng)和從事精密機械工作的經歷碰撞出閃亮的火花，點燃了他充盈心中已久的藝術夢想。王天明的第一件微雕作品是上世紀80年代末創(chuàng)作的《蘭亭序》，當時是將300多個字刻在象棋般大小的石頭上，沒想到這件作品剛完成不久就被一名日本人買走。此后，王天明一發(fā)而不可收，他白天上班，夜深人靜時便沉浸在鐘愛的藝術世界里。

較深的文化和書法繪畫素養(yǎng)修，以及靈巧的手上功夫，使王天明的微雕作品在同行中迅速脫穎而出。他創(chuàng)作的多個作品堪稱世界之最?！度^酒具》是代表作之一。這套集微書、微畫、微型工藝于一體的酒具，總重2.6克，經17道工序，歷時一年才完成。極其微小的壺身和酒杯上刻了300個字的詩文；不僅中空的壺肚與壺嘴相通，取下壺蓋，加酒后斟之還可注入杯中，令人嘆為觀止。

王天明的發(fā)雕技藝也堪稱一絕。他在一根發(fā)絲上刻下了“和平統(tǒng)一、天下為公”的小字，只有在200倍的放大鏡下才能看清，幾乎達到了精微的極致。

喜好古典文學的王天明特別尊崇孔子，多年來他微雕的孔子形象作品不下千件。

2008年，剛退休的王天明利用和老伴在北京照料外孫的兩年時間里，構思并完成了他的另一件大作《水滸一百單八將》。108塊3厘米長、7厘米高的墨精石板上，不僅古風猶存的人物形象呼之欲出，連人物身上的汗毛都雕得絲毫畢現(xiàn)。此作品文、畫、印的空間布局嚴謹，刻了2萬多個字，每個字的大小只有0.2平方毫米。

30多年來，勤奮而淡泊名利的王天明創(chuàng)作了數(shù)千件微雕藝術作品，其中多件作品應邀赴法國、德國、挪威、瑞典等國展出，為中國的這一傳統(tǒng)技藝贏來諸多贊譽。近年來，王天明不僅榮獲了山東省政府文藝最高獎——泰山文藝獎，還囊括了山東省工藝美術大師、山東省民間手工藝制作大師和山東省傳統(tǒng)技藝大師稱號。

如今，刀耕不輟的王天明依然堅持每天刻1000個字，以保證指尖感覺的靈敏度。目前，他的微雕藝術已經成為濟南市非遺項目，正在申報全國第一個省級微雕類非遺項目。他希望培養(yǎng)更多微雕技藝人才，將這一獨特的中國傳統(tǒng)文化遺產傳播到世界各地。

○ 王天明雕刻的世界最小的曲譜不僅比牙簽還纖細，音符、指法一應俱全。The world's smallest musical notation book carved by Wang Tianming is not only thinner than a toothpick, but also provided with notes and fi ngering.

○ 花紅方框中的頭發(fā)絲上是王天明的發(fā)雕作品，細微的字體已經超出微距鏡頭的拍攝范圍。The hair in the red box is Wang Tianming's hair carving work. These tiny characters are beyond the coverage of micro-lens.

○ 微雕《水滸》人物古風猶存，毫發(fā)畢現(xiàn)。The miniature statue Water Margin still retains the features of ancient people, showing every tiny detail.

Creating traditional Chinese paintings, doing calligraphy, repairing watches, carving and playing the violin, the person who integrates these abilities is Mr. Wang Tianming, well-known arts & crafts master in Shandong Province.

Wang Tianming was born in Shanghai and grew in Shandong. Growing up in a family environment filled withan academic atmosphere, he has been in contact with Chinese traditional culture and the art of painting and calligraphy since school age.

Lots of his creations can be rated as the greatest in the world. The Wine Set with Three Fabulous Features is one of his masterpieces. Integrating miniature calligraphy, miniature painting and miniature techniques, with a total weight of 2.6g, this wine set was completed af ter undergoing 17 processes taking a whole year. The extremely small wine pot and wine cup are carved with 300-character piece of prose.

Wang Tianming's hair car ving skill is also fabulous. He carved the words“peaceful reunification, the world is for all” on a single hair, meaning it can only be read under a 200X magnifying glass.

Over 30 years, Wang Tianming who is diligent and indifferent to fame and wealth has created thousands of miniature car ving ar tworks, many of which have been exhibited in France, Germany, Nor way, Sweden, etc., and received much praise for China.
