Here are some special customs in England.這是英國(guó)的一些特殊風(fēng)俗。

一、Greetings問(wèn)候

British verbal（口頭的；言語(yǔ)的）greetings may be accompanied by a handshake. A small and quick kiss may be given between females（女性的），or perhaps between a female and a male（男性的），but not between two males.

英語(yǔ)問(wèn)候語(yǔ)可能伴隨著握手。在女性之間或男女之間可以是一個(gè)小而快速的吻，但不會(huì)發(fā)生在男性之間。

二、Pancake races煎餅比賽

People hold pancake races all over England in February. Everyone can join in the race. People run to the finishing line with a pan in their hand. When they are running，they have to flip（輕彈，快速翻轉(zhuǎn)）the pancake in the pan. The most famous pancake race takes place at Olney. The Olney Pancake Race is world- famous. Only the housewives there can join in it，and they must wear an apron（圍裙）and a hat or a scarf.

Scarecrow Festival is in mid-August. During that time，people make and show scarecrows around the village. It is a very popular festival.

In Britain，respecting women is an important aspect to reflect（反射；表達(dá)）the gentleman poise. Lady first is a well-known standards of behaviour（行為；舉止）.

六、Forbidden avoid禁忌

Can’t jump the queue: British have a habit of standing in line. You can see them one by one to line up on a bus，train，or buy a newspaper. Jumping the queue is a screening nasty（骯臟的；令人討厭的）behavior.

Can’t ask a lady’s age: British don’t like to talk about man’s wages and woman’s age.

Can’t bargain（交易；討價(jià)還價(jià)）: in Britain，the most taboo（禁忌；忌諱）is shopping bargaining.

不能加塞：英國(guó)人有排隊(duì)的習(xí)慣。你可以看到他們一個(gè)挨一個(gè)地排隊(duì)上公共汽車、火車或買報(bào)紙。加塞是一種令人不齒的行為。
