        Concentrated Liquid Laundry Detergents Turning into the Mainstream

        A survey shows that consumers’ washing habits have changed, nearly 80% of them will choose laundry detergents to wash clothes. Soaps and washing powders ranked second and third, and the concentrated liquid laundry detergents is becoming increasingly popular and turning into a mainstream product.

        It is reported that laundry detergents contains 15~20%of active substance referred to ordinary laundry detergent,contains 25~30% is concentrated laundry detergent, more than 30% can be marked with a “concentrated liquid detergent” symbol, more than 45% of active substance can be marked with “concentration +” symbol. An industry report shows that if all Chinese consumers use concentrated detergents, it will reduce nearly 2.421 million tons of wastewater emission annually. In fact, currently,only 27.9% of the Chinese consumers understand what are concentrated liquid laundry detergents.

        The concept of “Concentrated Detergents” has been put forward in the market for many years, but it is not widely prevailed in the real sense. Nowadays, the famous Chinese local brand—Blue Moon which has attained“concentration +” certification proposes that it should speed up the process of “concentration”. According to related investigation, new liquid laundry detergents launched by Blue Moon is quite functional to improve the user experience by prodcut weight. Unlike the common detergents, the new product of Blue Moon is only 660 g,which has the equivalent cleaning capacity to the ordinary laundry detergent which weight is 2.2 kg. The total active substance content reaches to 47%, which is three times that of national standard liquid detergents, saving 70% of usage.

        Data proved that consumers spend less money when use the concentrated liquid detergents in terms of usage quantity. However, most consumers do not realize it.so it is extremely needed to convert more consumers to use concentrated laundry detergents. Currently, the concentrated liquid laundry detergent market share is less than 4% in China, which means there is still a large room for improvement of the whole industry.
