        The nature of products creates business value:The 17th National Symposium on New Textile Products

        We are living in a “industrial revolution” era, when it shows up the shift from factors-driven to innovation-driven, the competitive change from low cost into quality and benefit, the turn of manufactures from extensive way to green one, and the transformation from manufacturing method towards a service-oriented one.

        In this case, what should textile and apparel enterprises in China do to adapt to the situation is becoming a serious subject to discuss. And the symposium proposed the enterprises to go back the nature of their own products to create business value, then to achieve sustainable development.

        Recently, The 17th National Symposium on New Textile Products was held in Shishi City, Fujian province. Under the guidance from China National Textile & Apparel Council (CNTAC), the meeting was sponsored by China National Information Center (CTIC), Fabrics China, and the Peoples Government of Shishi City, with support by Shishi International Textile City Development Co., Ltd..

        The symposium attracted about 500 people who are from industrial institutions, parks, enterprises of upstream and mid-stream industry chains, brands, inspection institutions, colleges, and relevant media.

        Communication promotes mutual progress

        Qiao Yanjin, the chief of CTIC, and the Standing Committee of Shishi Municipal Committee of the CPC, and Liu Dewang, Senior Vice-Mayor of Shishi, respectively presented a speech to share their views to the audiences.

        Qiao Yanjin pointed out that for an enterprise, products development is the core duty. Now, Chinas textile industry is in the midst of transformation and upgrading. While the fusion of the new information technology and manufacturing industry triggered a new round industrial revolution, and during which the industry appears new modes of production, industrial form, business mode, as well as new economic growth.

        Hence, Qiao noted that the development of new textile products should grasp the spirit of 2025 strategic target and strategy in manufacture, establish the system of “Internet+” and tech-innovation, and promote the industry to walk onto a digital, intelligent, flexible, and green low-carbon road.

        Liu Dewang said that it is a great opportunity for Shishi City to have been chosen to hold the meeting. Besides, Shishi International Textile City, working as the platform of “Oriental Milan Strategy”, continually tries to keep up the step of professionalization, required scale, internationalization, and modernization. Through this way, Shishi City will be sure to get much promotion and development in textile and garment industry.

        To grasp the opportunity of constructing textile power to break new ground

        Sun Ruizhe, Vice-President of CNTAC, delivered his speech on the symposium. He showed clearly that the bedstone of products development is actually meeting the demand of enterprises and industry. For textile industry, there are four methods promoting the innovative ability, namely, the promotion of resource control, environmental friendliness, labor productivity, and fashion force.

        According to Mr. Sun, the textile product development should focus on five aspects in tech-innovation as follows:

        To accelerate the process of intelligent manufacturing in textile industry, including equipment, operation, and products as well;

        To promote the study and application of new materials;

        To strengthen the crucial power of textile industry;

        To promote products quality and to speed up the brands construction;

        To improve the level of green manufacturing.

        At the same time, he also stated that during the period of 13th Five Year Plan, textile industry faces the key stage to strong itself. The whole industry should grasp the important strategic opportunity to realize breakthroughs in smart materials to build high-tech power; to aim at the consumption under the guidance of fashion to build brands power; to take the responsibility of protecting environment to insist sustainable way; to rely on the talents to gain the goal of strengthening the nation by talents.

        Then, the forum on industrial analysis and product development, the another one on trend and tech-innovation, and the third one on brands and their fabric needs were in progress respectively.

        In addition to the rich professional speeches, this symposium added the exhibition content in scientific and technological innovation, where displayed 10 enterprises products, including fiber, yarn, fabric and garment. The move attracted a lot of the representatives to come to consult, communicate, and discuss.
