It’s scary graduating from college； it’s like， when you finally feel like you fit in， and you’ve gotten the lay of the land， it’s （not so suddenly） time to ship off， as you’re thrust from the frying pan of learning into the fires of employment.

I was lucky enough to land an awesome job a few months before graduation. It wasn’t easy though. I had to go to this cattle-call audition at some random hotel， where I was surrounded by thousands of other would-be Broadway stars hoping to break into the business. But I beat ’em all out， and got a handful of job offers. That’s when I faced a tough decision. Do I sign a short-term contract to play a principal role for a regional theatre， or do I sign a longer， more lucrative deal touring the United States， performing as a giant dancing dragon in a children’s show. I took the latter， even though it was certainly the scarier choice.

So as graduation nears， just try taking a deep breath and remembering that this is not the end， but rather， a whole new beginning.

大學(xué)畢業(yè)是一件很可怕的事情，感覺就像你剛?cè)谌氪髮W(xué)環(huán)境，熟悉了那里的情況，但馬上就要離開（雖不是突如其來），從讀書學(xué)習(xí)的煎鍋跳入就業(yè)的火坑。

我很幸運地在畢業(yè)前幾個月就找到了一份不錯的工作。但過程并不輕松。我在一家酒店參加那場海選試鏡會，當時有幾千名百老匯明日之星希望闖入這個行業(yè)中。但我把他們?nèi)驍×?，得到了好幾個工作機會。我也因此面臨著艱難的抉擇。我應(yīng)該跟一個地方戲劇院簽一份短期合約，出演一個主要角色，還是應(yīng)該簽一份長期合約，加入在美國巡演的、獲利更豐厚的劇團，在一個兒童劇中扮演一條巨大的舞龍？我選擇了后者，盡管那肯定是個更嚇人的選擇。
