On Teachers Day

It was the Teachers Day① last Wednesday. Before it came， we were thinking what we would do for our English teacher and what present we would give her on that day. Wu Juan said， “Lets give our teacher a surprise.” “What surprise？” we asked. She went on， “Every day before the class， one of us will give a weather and news report. On that day， the reporter will give the English teacher a card and a bottle of pure drink② water. Water is pure and clean， just like our love to our teacher. Water is also useful to the teacher. She talks a lot in class.” “Thats a good idea，” we said happily.

On Teachers Day， as soon as the teacher walked in③ the classroom and said “Its time for class”， we stood up and shouted “Happy Teachers Day！”. Wu Li went to the front， and gave her a card and a bottle of water with our best wishes. We did give our teacher a surprise. She held the bottle and didnt know how to④ say first， then smiled happily. She drank the water at once and said， “This is the best water Ive ever had. Thank you very much.” We knew she understood our meaning. We laughed and laughed.

1. 優(yōu)點：

文章開頭寫學(xué)生們討論“教師節(jié)”送老師什么禮物，他們可謂煞費苦心，最后他們決定送卡片和一瓶水?！岸Y輕情義重”，水對老師有用，而水的純潔又如學(xué)生對老師的愛，小小的禮物寄寓著美好的深情。文章字里行間看出純潔的師生情意，我們不禁為之感動。

2. 需要修改的地方：

①the Teachers Day改為Teachers Day。英語中，在表示節(jié)日的名稱前不加冠詞。

②drink改為drinking。drinking water 意為“飲用水”，drinking在此處用作定語，修飾water。

③in改為into。表示“走進(jìn)教室”，應(yīng)用walk into the classroom。

④how改為what。What是疑問代詞，可用作say的賓語，而how則不行。

按中考英語作文滿分20分的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，本文修改前可得18分。
