喻之暢

It was one day in August in 1887. That day would be unforgettable for the villagers in Banjos in Spain. On this day， people suddenly saw two children walking out of a cave. People couldnt believe their eyes and walked near to watch carefully. It was sure that the skin of the two children was green. And the materials of their clothes were never seen. The two children couldnt speak Spanish and they only stood there horribly （恐懼地）.

1887年8月的一天，對西班牙班賀斯附近的居民來說，是終生難忘的。這天人們突然看見從山洞里走出兩個綠孩子。人們簡直不敢相信自己的眼睛，就小心翼翼地走到跟前仔細觀看。沒錯，這兩個孩子的皮膚真是綠色的，身上穿的衣服面料也從來沒有見過。他們不會說西班牙語，而只是驚恐地不知所措地站著。

Driven by curiosity （好奇心） and sympathy （同情心）， people sent food to the children. At the beginning， they would not eat， so the boy died soon. But the girl was rather obedient （順從的） and she learnt a little Spanish to talk with the local people. Later， when she explained where she was from， she mentioned that she came from a place without the sun. One day， she was raised by the whirlwind（旋風） and cast（拋落） into the cave. This green girl lived another five years and died in 1892. But still people have no idea where she comes from and why her skin is green.

好奇心和同情心使人們很快給這兩個孩子送來了食物，可惜起初他們不肯進食，那個男孩很快地死去了。而那個女孩還比較乖巧，她居然學會了一些西班牙語，并能和人們交談。據(jù)她后來解釋自己的來歷時說，她是來自一個沒有太陽的地方，有一天，她們被旋風卷起，后來就被拋落在那個山洞里。這個綠女孩后來又活了5年，于1892年死去。至于她到底從哪里來，為什么皮膚是綠色的，人們始終無法找到答案。

But those two strange green children were not unique （獨一無二的） on the earth. As early as the 11th century， two green children walked out from a cave in England. They looked very like the two green children discovered in Spain. To our surprise， that green girl also said that they came from a place without the sun.

但是這兩個奇怪的綠孩子的事件在地球上并不是獨一無二的。早在十一世紀，從英國的一個山洞里也曾走出來兩個綠孩子。他們的長相、皮膚和西班牙的這兩個綠孩子極為相似。令人驚異的是，當時的那個綠女孩也說，她們是來自一個沒有太陽的地方。

These two strange incidents make people very puzzled， because we all know that there are only white， yellow and black people on the earth. Some people who claim that they have seen the extraterrestrials（外星人） describe them as humanoids（類人生物） with small height and those extraterrestrials can emit（發(fā)出） green color. They are also called “small greeners”. These make people think that whether the two green children discovered in Spain are related to extraterrestrials. The green children said that they came from a place without the sun. Where is it on earth？ No one can give an explanation.

這兩次奇怪的事件，始終使人們迷惑不解。因為人們都知道地球上的人只有白、黃、黑三種膚色，而有些自稱見過外星人的人在說到外星人時，總是把他們描繪成身材矮小、發(fā)出綠光的類人生物，也被稱為“小綠人”。這不禁使人們想到，在西班牙發(fā)現(xiàn)的綠孩子是不是與被稱為“小綠人”的外星人有關。而綠孩子自稱的“沒有太陽的地方”，到底是哪兒？也沒有人能夠解釋。

Scientists point out that human beings are not the only creatures in the great universe. There are 100 million planets which could have life on them only in the Milky Way Galaxy （銀河系）. There are still 18 thousand

planets which are fit for humanoids to live on. Among them， at least 10 planets civilization could develop faster than the earth. So when there are really green children coming to visit the earth， we should welcome them without any surprise.

科學家們指出，在浩翰的宇宙中，類人生物肯定不是唯獨我們人類。僅僅在銀河系就有一億顆星球完全有可能有生命存在，還有1.8萬顆行星適合類人生物居住，這里面至少有10顆行星的文明能得到發(fā)展并很可能超過我們地球，所以即使真的有小綠孩來光顧地球，我們也將不足為怪地歡迎他們。
