阿爾弗雷德·丁尼生（Alfred Tennyson，1809年8月—1892年10月），是英國維多利亞時(shí)代最受歡迎及最具特色的詩人。12歲時(shí)，丁尼生便寫出了6000行的史詩；18歲時(shí)，丁尼生與其兄出版了《兩兄弟詩集》；1828年，丁尼生進(jìn)入劍橋大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)，并堅(jiān)持詩歌創(chuàng)作；1831年，因父親去世，丁尼生被迫輟學(xué)，兩年后，其摯友又英年早逝，這一切使得他深受打擊，此后10年未再發(fā)表任何詩作；1842年，丁尼生又開始發(fā)表新詩，從此詩名與日俱增；1850年，丁尼生繼威廉·華茲華斯之后，被封為桂冠詩人。
