1. A bank in city A is robbed. The masked robber runs away with a yellow paper bag in one hand and a pistol in the other.

A市一家銀行被搶，蒙面強盜一手拎著一個黃色紙袋，一手拿著手槍，倉惶逃跑。

2.A blind man with dark glasses and a stick is walking up in his face. He is holding a yellow paper bag.

一個戴著墨鏡，手拄拐杖，拎著一個黃色紙袋的盲人，迎面走來。

3.They bump into each other and fall to the ground. The robber stands up and goes on running.

二人撞了個滿懷，同時摔倒在地，強盜爬起來后繼續(xù)逃跑。

4.The police catches the robber. There is only a piece of bread ，but no pistol in the bag. The police cant know whether he is the robber.

警察抓住強盜，可是紙袋里只有一塊面包，而沒有手槍。警察無法證明他是不是強盜。

5.The police officer Brown finds the case is very hard. The assistant George says，“The blind tell things by hand. If he touches the robbers body， he will know him. When we find the blind man， we will know whether the man is the robber or not.”

布朗警長感到案子棘手。助手喬治說：“盲人靠手的感覺辨別東西，如果他用手觸摸到強盜的身體，就會知道強盜的某些特征。找到盲人也許就能知道被抓的人是不是強盜?！?/p>

6.The police officer tells George the blind man lives on begging and stays in Hotel Martin. George finds the blind mans room with his partner Sally.

警長告訴喬治那盲人以行乞為生，住在馬丁旅店。喬治奉命和他的搭檔莎莉找到盲人住的房間。

7.The door isnt locked. They knock but no one answers， so Sally opens it gently.

門沒上鎖，敲門也沒人答應。于是莎莉輕輕推開了門。

8.Suddenly the blind man comes back.“No one has visited me for a long time. I dont expect there are visitors this evening. Please come in and sit down.”

突然，盲人回來了?！昂镁脹]人來看我了。想不到今晚有客人來，進去坐會兒吧?！?/p>

9.A desk lamp in the room is on. There is an open daily newspaper by the pillow.

屋里一盞小臺燈亮著，枕邊有一份翻開著的日報。

10.“I understand，” George says to Sally，“He is the robbers collude.” Do you know why?

“我明白了?！眴讨喂麛嗟貙ι蛘f，“他就是強盜的同伙!” 你知道為什么嗎？

答案：盲人說：好久沒人來看我，想不到今晚有客人來。這說明盲人的房間里沒有來過其他人?？墒俏葑永锪林_燈，而且報紙也是翻開著的。盲人是不會開燈讀報的。喬治推斷，他不是盲人，在路上和強盜相撞完全是事先策劃好的。兩人一起倒在地上時，互相調(diào)換了紙袋。
