The number of rural migrants living in“urban village”has increased significantly with the accelerated urbanization in China in last thirty years.Urban villages have been considered as one of major causes to some critical social problems in many cities.However,traditional city management fails to provide effective solutions for the problems associated with urban village.The government and city administrative start to encourage the force of social work professionals to be involved in community work in urban villages,which emphasizes community capacity building,community self-organizations,and empowering the inhabitants to achieve community development.One comprehensive service program that aims to improve community environment and enhance functioning of migrants and their families through social work intervention has been conducted in a typical urban village in Shanghai in 2012.It is implemented jointly by local government and Shanghai Non-profit Social Work Agency.Drawing on the experience of the program,the paper puts forward tentative ideas and further agenda on social work practices in urban villages.

At our country, Social work still faces many problems, especially social workers highly needed and low employment. Based on X university of Baoding city 2009-2012 session of undergraduate social work graduates employment to investigation data, the study found that in nearly four years undergraduate social work graduates overall employment situation is good, but the employment mismatch phenomenon is serious; the proportion of graduate is increasing, but continue to study for a few professional social work; the proportion of girls in counterpart professional is higher. This study thinks, the individual social environment and social system is the main factors influencing the social work profession undergraduate course graduate employment, and on this basis, in order to improve the social work graduates employment and increase the rate of professional counterparts, policy recommendations are put forward.

parents who have lost their only child are one of the concerns of the current society and also a new vulnerable group. How to solve the problem confronting this group becomes a hot topic. This dissertation attempts to combine the methods and skills of crisis intervention and case management, apply them in the social work of parents who have lost their only child, and help this group get out of the dilemma with professional knowledge in social work. Firstly, it briefly introduces the research background and significance. Then, on the basis of defining the characteristics of parents who have lost their only child, it further analyzes questions generally exist in this group of people, such as in psychology, economy and social resources. Also, it elaborates relevant theories of crisis intervention and case management and probes into concrete steps and skills of such intervention on the grounds of the characteristics already identified. Finally, this dissertation reflects on matters that need attention in the application of crisis intervention and case management in the case work of the aforesaid group and summarizes briefly in the end.

Depending on the advantage of its geographical location bordering on Hong Kong, the advanced social mechanism and the steering guidance system is introduced in the Peal River Delta, making it become a pioneer of social work industry in the mainland. As one of the earliest areas of implementation in Shenzhen, School Social Work has formed a complete model after nearly five years of development.
