Beijing SBL Co. Has Developed Oil-soluble Additive for Suppressing Formation of Yellow Oil
The technical project relating to the pilot-scale manufactured oil-soluble product -- the yellow oil inhibitor used in steam cracker, which is performed by the Beijing SBL Science & Technology Co., Ltd., has passed the experts’acceptance tests sponsored by Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. This achievement is regarded as an innovative attempt in the world. This product has been successfully applied in the 1.8 Mt/a MTO unit at the Shenhua Coal Chemical Company, the 800 kt/a steam cracking unit (using naphtha as the feedstock) at the Qilu Petrochemical Company, and the heavy oil catalytic pyrolysis unit for ethylene production at the Sinochem’s Shenyang Wax Chemicals Company, Ltd. The outcome on application of this product has revealed that in comparison with the performance of imported yellow oil inhibitor, the domestic inhibitor can reduce the yellow oil content of waste caustic solution in the caustic wash tower kettle by 25%—30% to greatly improve the washing efficiency.
