Dear boys and girls，我是定冠詞the，因為我沒有兄弟姐妹，所以有人叫我“光桿司令”。別看定冠詞只有我自己，可我的本事還不小呢！不信，請看我統(tǒng)帥的“兵”：

Ⅰ. 用在特指某（些）人或某（些）物的名詞前。如：

The book is mine.這本書是我的。

Ⅱ. 用在雙方都知道的人或物的名詞前。如：

Open the door， please.請把門打開。

Ⅲ. 用在世界上獨一無二的事物名詞前。如：

The sun is much bigger than the moon.太陽比月亮大得多。

Ⅳ. 用在序數(shù)詞和形容詞的最高級前。如：

①We are reading the first lesson.我們正在讀第一課。

②He is the tallest in our class.他在我們班上個子最高。

Ⅴ. 用在由普通名詞構(gòu)成的專有名詞前。如：

①the Great Wall 長城

②the East Street Hospital 東大街醫(yī)院

Ⅵ. 用在一些習慣用語中。如：

①in the morning （afternoon / evening）在早上（下午/晚上）

②on the left / right 在左/右邊

Ⅶ. 用在單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞前（代表一類人或物）。如：

The horse is a useful animal.馬是一種有用的動物。

Ⅷ. 用在形容詞前（代表一類人或物）。如：

the rich 富人

the dead 死者

Ⅸ. 用在樂器名詞前。如：

She is playing the violin.她正在拉小提琴。

Ⅹ. 用在后面有一限制性定語修飾的可數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞前。如：

The water in this river is clear.這條河里的水很清澈。

Ⅺ. 用在姓氏的復數(shù)形式前，表示一家人。如：

The Smiths are having supper.史密斯一家正在吃晚飯。

Ⅻ. 用在敘述上文提過的人或物前。如：

There is a bike under the tree. The bike is new.樹底下有輛自行車，那輛自行車是新的。
