Geek一詞在美國俚語中意指擁有極高天賦、癡迷于某個自己感興趣的領域，但卻不擅長與人打交道的怪胎和技術宅人。他們在普通人眼里可謂是高智商、低情商的典型代表?？墒请S著美劇《生活大爆炸》(The Big Bang Theory)的熱播，怪胎們似乎打了一場漂亮的翻身仗，劇中被中國粉絲稱為“謝耳朵”的Sheldon更是擁有超高的人氣。謝耳朵雷人的冷笑話、怪異的思維模式，甚至長短T恤疊穿的穿衣法都成了粉絲們津津樂道的話題。電視劇宣傳海報上的那句“Smart is the new sexy (智慧是新的性感)”也被“geek一族”奉為至理名言。

作為歌手的Jason Mraz頗具個性，大學主修音樂劇的他中途輟學，跑到圣迭戈去當流浪藝人。因為古靈精怪的性格和音樂風格，他有了“男巫”的綽號。2002年，Mraz正式發(fā)行了首張專輯Waiting for My Rocket to Come。從專輯名我們就可以看出來，等著“火箭”來接自己的“男巫”的確不是地球人。不過地球人卻十分認可“男巫”和他的音樂，在第52屆格萊美頒獎典禮上，“男巫”捧走了兩座格萊美獎杯。這首“Geek in the Pink”收錄在Mraz于2005年發(fā)行的專輯Mr. A-Z中(這里他直接用自己的名字玩起了創(chuàng)意——專輯名就來源于他的姓氏Mraz)。在“Geek in the Pink”的MV中，Mraz親自上陣，身穿一件印有OTAKU (御宅族)的粉色T恤，頭戴耳機，手舞足蹈地向路人推薦自己的專輯。這首歌的MV看上去就像是一場即興的街頭表演，在Mraz的帶動下，不少人收起了嚴肅的面孔，跟著音樂隨性搖擺。

其實，怪胎們真的不必妄自菲薄，反倒應該為自己感到驕傲，而自認為“正?！钡钠胀ㄈ艘矐搶Α按┲凵玊恤”的怪胎們多一些包容。我們這個時代所崇拜的一些天才正是過去不被理解的那群怪胎，我們今天所相信的一些真理昨天也曾被認為是謬誤。從某種意義上說，“不走尋常路”的怪胎們才是真正的勇士和智者。
