“Till now, 650 companies in the field of aviation and aerospace from 39 countries and regions have signed up for Airshow China 2012, with an indoor exhibition area of 28,200 square meters, and 80-plus real flying vehicles to be displayed,” said He Ningka, Mayor of Zhuhai Municipality and Director of the Zhuhai Executive Committee of the show, at a press conference held on Sept. 14 in Beijing.
China International Aviation Aerospace Exhibition, or Airshow China, is the only international aerospace trade show in China that is endorsed by the Chinese central government. It features the display of real-size products, trade talks, technological exchange and flying display. Since 1996, the show has been held in every even-number year in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, for eight sessions. Airshow China 2012 will take place from Nov. 13 to 18, 2012.
In recent years, China’s aviation aerospace industry has been developing by leaps and bounds thanks to the steady economic growth and government support. Endorsed by the State Council, Airshow China has the full support of the government and the Chinese aviation aerospace industries.
All major Chinese airlines, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Commercial Aircrafts Corporation of China, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation will participate in the show and stage larger, more diverse and innovative exhibitions, according to He Ningka.
The show also brings together world-leading companies, high-level corporate figures and government officials in the aviation and aerospace industry. Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Sukhoi and other leaders of the industry will attend the show this year as they did before. Bombardier, French Aerospace Industries Association, CFM, Honeywell will expand their exhibitions. Goodrich, Bell Helicopter, Liebherr Aerospace and some other companies are coming back to the show after years of absence. Eatons and some other corporations will make their debuts this year at the show.
The show proves to be an ideal platform for Chinese and foreign companies in the field to showcase products and technology, establish and maintain partnership, and exchange information on how to meet the challenges faced by the industry, said Liu Zhizheng, vice governor of Guangdong province at the press conference.
The show covers a wide range of areas including civil aviation, spaceflight, military aviation and defense technology(land, air and sea), components, equipment, materials, maintenance, repair and technical services (MRO), infrastructure, research and development, authorities, organizations and associations, training, information, and services.
Besides, Airshow China is a stunning, eye-catching exhibition for the general visitors. State-of-the-art military and civil aircrafts will put on a large number of fascinating flying performances. There will also be “air ballet” performances by many world-class aerobatics teams. The famous rocket man Yves Rossy from Switzerland who has successfully flown over the English Channel and the Alps, will also perform during the show.
During the airshow, a wide range of conferences and events will be held, such as “B to B” trade fairs, “China International Aviation and Aerospace Summit”, “China General Aviation Industry Forum”, “The 3rd China Aviation Day”, and “China Jumbo Jet Night”.
